Job Summary:
Provides routine and problem-visit gynecologic care to patients. During the course of provision of care, the APRN may order, conduct, and interpret appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests and prescribe pharmacologic agents, treatments, and non-pharmacologic therapies. Acts as a resource to address patient questions. Maintains standards for professional nursing practice in the clinic setting. Provides routine follow-up evaluations for obstetric patients and coordinates follow-up care with the other practice providers as needed. Completes documentation of the management of these patients.
Reports to: Medical Director for Centers for Women’s Health
Minimum Qualifications:
Current Certification of Nurse Midwife by the RI Department of Health
Completion of the approved nurse practitioner program and certification by ANCC and/or AANP
Credentialing required for appointment to the Medical Staff of South County Hospital Allied Health Staff
Two years of relevant practice experience are required.
