    Job Summary

    Workforce Operations Generalists

     

    This role is central to the recruitment, hiring, on-boarding, and ongoing HR management and coordination of Clinical Attending adjunct faculty (Providers). It oversees the full recruitment cycle—from posting jobs to interview coordination and candidate selection support—followed by seamless hiring preparation, offer execution, and coordination of HR specific on-boarding activities.

     

    The position ensures accurate documentation, compliance with HR and Faculty Affairs processes, and facilitates communication across departments, clinics, and leadership teams as appropriate. This includes, but is not limited to: working alongside division/clinic leadership on provider leave (e.g., FMLA ), employment verifications, and contract administration or contractual updates.

     

    This role is critical to maintaining Clinical Attending adjunct faculty (Provider) readiness and ensuring a positive Clinical Attending adjunct faculty (Provider) experience from recruitment through their employment life-cycle.

     

    This position will be heavily involved in the support of the departments Faculty Affairs cyclical processes, that will ensure the departments continued alignment with all academic and governance matters within the School of Medicine and the University.

    Responsibilities

    + Managing the bulk of workforce operations processes for department Clinical Attending adjunct faculty and appropriate clinical staff, including management of the recruitment process and interview coordination, employment life-cycle, employment file updates and record keeping, training as needed, and employee relations.

    + Provide department-level support for faculty workforce issues.

    + Act as a liaison between the department and central Human Resources.

    + Work with department and embedded units concerning job postings, employment record keeping, processing actions such as resignations, terminations, and leave, as well as providing department-specific faculty HR onboarding and offboarding services.

    + Maintain robust personnel records in accordance with University and department procedures and policies in partnership with central HR.

    + Act as subject-matter expert in workforce services for clinical adjunct faculty and staff.

    + Provide support for academic faculty services as needed.

    + Other duties as assigned.

    Provide workforce/human resource support to university department or division. Position reports to university department or division rather than to central HR. Perform various human resources duties in areas such as recruiting, employment, compensation, training, employee relations, or other special projects. Provide unit-level guidance on human resources issues. Partner with management teams to facilitate the delivery of HR services as appropriate. Acts as the HR liaison between the unit, Central Human Resources and internal and external customers. Serve as contact for employees in the unit and answer questions regarding HR policies and procedures. Coordinate HR processes with Central Human Resources. Work with Central Human Resources to coordinate salary actions, job postings and employee relations issues. Requires moderate skill set and proficiency in discipline.     Minimum Qualifications

    **EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT :** 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor’s degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).

    Preferences

     

    Familiarity with University of Utah faculty and clinical policies and procedures.

     

    Familiarity with Healthcare administration and or Academic Faculty.

     

    Strong project management skills and or HR experience.
