    Job Summary

    The Washington State Alliance of YMCAs is a statewide coalition of independent YMCA associations working together to strengthen communities across Washington. United by a shared mission of youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility, the Alliance coordinates efforts to expand access to programs, advocate for public policy, and secure funding for initiatives that benefit children, families, and underserved populations. The Alliance operates under the umbrella of the YMCA of Greater Seattle which serves as the Alliance’s fiscal agent.

     

    The Washington State Alliance of YMCAs is seeking a strategic and hands-on Data Systems Manager to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of our data infrastructure. This role will oversee the creation and collection/analysis of data regarding members and program participants in a common data warehouse. Through the creation and maintenance of a data dashboard tool will be able to make data accessible for a broad range of audiences. This role will help ensure data integrity, accessibility, and actionable insights across the organization. The ideal candidate is a systems thinker with strong technical expertise, problem solving ability and a passion for empowering teams through data.

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

    This is a full-time, remote position. The incumbent must work and reside in the state of Washington. Hours and days of work are typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Days and hours may vary depending on the needs of the organization and community. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

    Hiring Range: $92,000 - $96,000/year

    Responsibilities

    + Consult with independent YMCAs on their use of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems (e.g., Daxko, Traction Rec), ensuring data accuracy and user accessibility.

    + Design, implement and maintain scalable data warehouses to support organizational reporting and analytics needs.

    + Develop, implement and maintain interactive dashboards using tools like Power BI and Salesforce Analytics Cloud.

    + Develop and maintain technical documentation for all BI solutions.

    + Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify data and report needs and translate them into system solutions.

    + Lead training sessions and create documentation to onboard staff of alliance members and improve data literacy across YMCA associations.

    + Proactively identify opportunities for system improvements, develop alternative solutions, and present these for management approval and implementation.

    + Conduct system testing, identify defects, perform necessary fixes, and re-execute tests to ensure results are accurate.

    + Ensure compliance with data governance policies and security protocols.

    Qualifications

    + B.S. degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field or equivalent experience.

    + 3+ years of experience with an OLAP database, Azure Synapse or similar tools, and various Business Intelligence tools (preferably Power BI).

    + Familiarity with Data Warehousing principals (Kimball and other methodologies).

    + Strong understanding of relational databases, ETL/ELT processes, and data modeling.

    + Solid technical skills including knowledge of and working experience with Microsoft

    + Office Products, particularly Excel, PowerPivot, Power Query, Power BI and SharePoint.

    + Excellent communication and project management skills.

    + Understanding and use of current data privacy regulations and best practices.

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Experience with one or more of the CRMs used within the Alliance (Daxko, Traction Rec and Reclique Core).

    + Demonstrated ability to train and support non-technical users in adopting data systems.

    + Experience collecting data for private and public grants.

    + Background in nonprofit, education, or mission-driven organizations is a plus.
