    What You'll Do

     

    Principal's Global Equity team is searching for an experienced Small Cap Industrials Equity Analyst to join our research team! This candidate will work with a diverse team of portfolio managers and dedicated sector analysts and deliver proprietary research and investment recommendations.

     

    + Generate alpha through investment recommendations based upon in-depth, detailed proprietary analysis ofindustrialcompanies, with aspecific focus on small cap (<$10bn market cap)capital goodscompanies in the U.S.

    + Interactfrequentlywith company management, industry experts, and other stakeholders to gather differentiated and convicted qualitative and quantitative insights

    + Partner closely withIndustrialsectorteamlead,analysts,and portfolio managers to provide outperformance through stock selectionwhile working within the framework of ourresearchprocess and portfolio constraints

    + Build andmaintaindetailed financialand market-orientedmodels to forecast company performanceand assess security valuation, incorporating macroeconomic and industry-specific factors

    + Generatetimely,actionable investment ideas and communicate insights through written reports, models, presentations, and investment committee discussions

    + Maintain research coverage of existing investments withinindustrialsfor multiple portfolios

    Who You Are

    + 5+years equity investment experienceinindustrials,preferably withat least 2 years on the buyside.

    + Proventrack recordof generating consistent alpha through actively covered investment recommendations

    + Advanced knowledge of various financial applications: FactSetandBloomberg

    + Ability to distill and communicateindustrydataand trendsinto actionable investment insights

    + Possess best-in-class analytical skills, including extensive knowledge of the Industrials sector, fundamental company analysis, and financial modeling

    + Highly intellectually curious, with a clear passion for investing and public markets

    + MBA orCFAhighly preferred

    + Entrepreneurial mindset; self-starter with a desire to build out individual franchise within an Industrialsdedicated team

    + Exceptionalwritten and verbal communication skills

    + Extensive use of AI within security research

    + Humility and self-awareness

     

    Salary Range Information

     

    Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.

     

    Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)

     

    $137000 - $236000 / year

     

    Time Off Program

     

    Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.

    Locations include New York City, Chicago, Seattle, Denver, or Des Moines. You’ll work with your leader to determine the arrangement which best suits our needs.

     

    Compensation

     

    When noting compensation expectations on your application, we ask for base pay. The base pay range shown in our description includes two different levels which will be determined by the leader, based on experience. This role will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on individual, fund, and firm-oriented performance.
