We are seeking a Full Stack Mainframe Software Engineer that embraces Agile Programming principles to deliver innovative software products for Ford Motor Company and our Dealers and Customers.
What you'll do...
+ Ability to design, develop and maintain Mainframe COBOL, DB2, SP & JCL to meet support and/or project requirements
+ Experience using source code management tools such as Endevor and GitHub
+ Quick starter to troubleshoot/resolve incidents and business support items
+ Ability to perform application support tasks: systems support, security/audit reviews, and maintenance tasks
+ Willingness to assist and troubleshoot current Mainframe environment, participating in production support/pager duty rotation, including weekend and off-hour support coverage
+ Experience with CA Agile Central (Rally), backlogs, iterations, user stories, or similar Agile Tools
+ Highly effective in working with other Mainframe Engineering and DBA technical specialists, Product Managers, and business partners
+ Ability to multi-task effectively and prioritize work based on business impact and urgency
You'll have...
+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent
+ 8+ years experience in mainframe development background in design, analysis and coding: COBOL (IMS), JCL, CA7, DB2 and/or SQL, Teradata, and real-time and batch processing.
+ Ability to design, develop and maintain Mainframe COBOL & JCL to meet support and/or project requirements
+ Experience using source code management tools such as Endevor and GitHub
+ Quick starter to troubleshoot/resolve incidents and business support items
+ Ability to perform application support tasks: systems support, security/audit reviews, and maintenance tasks
+ Excellent teamwork, written and verbal communication, and organizational skills are essential, ability to solve complex problems in a global environment
+ Ability to multi-task effectively and prioritize work based on business impact and urgency
+ Unit and integration testing experience
+ Ability to work independently and take initiative when solving unexpected problems
+ 1 year experience in Mainframe modernization
+ 1+ year experience implementing z/OS connect, SFTP, SOAP and REST APIs, and other methods for system to system communication and data exchange
Our preferred qualifications:
+ 1 year experience in Google Big Q
+ Experience with Jira, backlogs, iterations, user stories, or similar Agile Tools
+ Willingness to assist and troubleshoot current Mainframe environment, participating in production support/pager duty rotation, including weekend and off-hour support coverage
+ Highly effective in working with other Mainframe Engineering and DBA technical specialists, Product Managers, and business partners
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
+ Ability to manage changing priorities
