What We Want
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Instructional Designer I to join our team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to collaborate closely with PD trainers, subject matter experts, and TCALL staff to create engaging, on-demand LMS courses that meet Title II ADA accessibility standards. You'll also play a key role in planning and coordinating inclusive learning materials with instructional design and multimedia teams to ensure every learner has access to high-quality educational experiences.

Essential Duties/Tasks
Course Design and Development
+ Leads course design and development projects.
+ Collaborates with professional development (PD) trainers, subject matter experts, and TCALL staff to design, develop, and test on-demand courses for the Learning Management System (LMS) that are compliant with Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
+ Assists with planning and coordinating accessible materials with PD trainers, instructional design teams, and multimedia teams.
Support and Training
+ Consults and supports staff with instructional design.
+ Develops trainings, in collaboration with the Learning Management System (LMS) Team, to assist staff in the development of sound instructional materials.
+ Provides training on various digital learning tools that can be used for on-demand, online, and in-person instruction.
+ Creates and reviews training documents and videos to support staff in their use of digital tools.
+ Reviews support tickets and responds accordingly.
Evaluation and Improvement
+ Evaluates instructional tools and software prior to implementation.
+ Reviews and updates existing on-demand courses for quality design, engagement, and relevancy.
+ Recommends the focus of training support for digital tools based on usage trends and best practices.
+ Conducts analysis of support data and provides reports to relevant stakeholders.
+ Troubleshoots course issues reported to the PD Portal staff as needed.
Project Management and Collaboration
+ Manages the overall design and development process for assigned projects.
+ Collaborates with subject matter experts to design and develop instructional materials.
+ Collaborates with the Manager of Disability Services at TCALL to ensure compliance with Title II of the ADA for all course content.
+ Assists subject matters experts throughout the design process and makes key recommendations based on best practices.
+ Completes special projects related to the digital learning environment as directed.
+ Assist the Learning Management System/PD Portal with customer support.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
+ Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ No prior experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
+ 2 years' experience in an adult education program funded under WIOA.
+ Experience with multiple sound and video editing tools.
+ Experience with project management tools such as Monday.com.
+ Experience using Articulate Storyline or similar course creation software with SCORM packaging options.
+ 2 years instructional design experience .
+ 2 years' experience with a Learning Management System (LMS)
+ Experience in applying accessibility standards (ADA Title II, WCAG)
+ Demonstrated proficiency using digital tools for on-demand course creation, such as video editing and embedded interactive content.
+ Experience collaborating with subject-matter experts and cross-functional teams to develop on-demand instructional materials.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
+ Knowledge of instructional design principles, including adult learning theory (andragogy), Universal Design for Learning (UDL), and accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG, ADA Title II) especially as applies to on-demand course development.
+ Skill in designing and developing engaging, accessible online courses using SCORM-compliant tools such as Articulate Storyline, Rise, or similar.
+ Ability to evaluate and improve instructional materials based on learner feedback, usage data, and evolving best practices.
+ Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Canvas, Moodle, or Cornerstone, including course setup, troubleshooting, and analytics.
+ Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with subject matter experts, trainers, and multimedia teams.
+ Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines using tools like Monday.com or other project management platforms.
+ Skill in using digital learning tools and media editing software, including video/sound editing for instructional content.
+ Ability to analyze support data and generate actionable reports to inform training and support strategies.
+ Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in instructional design and educational technology.
