Job Summary:
Expert at the troubleshooting and repair of PCBAs, assemblies, subassemblies, products, and/or product systems. Trains and supports new and junior personnel. Communicates with engineering on the design and sustaining of products and the induction of new changes into the manufacturing environment. Works with management on ideas for improvements. Completes failure analysis, reports, and develops processes that will be used to fix issues with products. Disseminates information and tracks the effectiveness of solutions. Works cross functionally within the company’s groups with the ability to communicate ideas effectively. Works fluently with computers with significant understanding of computer programs including Microsoft Office suite, data tracking software, and ERP systems.
Duties/Responsibilities:
* Expert at reading and interpreting schematics and assembly diagrams with ability to apply the knowledge in component level troubleshooting and repair of product.
* Assist in development / validation of new manufacturing and repair processes and procedures prior to implementation on production floor.
* Assist in development / recommendation of specifications of new and existing product.
* Read/interpret schematics and specifications.
* Data Collection and Analysis
* Root-Cause-Analysis, 5-Why Exercises to correct product and process defects
* Assist in technical writing of Reports, Charts, and Graphs
* Proficiency in SMT as well as Through-Hole soldering
* Use precision measuring tools and precision diagnostic equipment
* Ensure high standards of quality are achieved and maintained
* Assist in accurate data analysis for future improvements/corrective actions
* Problem solving tool implementation - Lean (6S, One Piece Flow, Value Stream mapping.)
* Other duties as assigned
Skills/Abilities:
* Ability to work on and train others on multiple device types
* Ability to work occasional overtime as determined by production scheduling
* Ability to inspect devices to a specified quality level
Education and Experience:
* High School Diploma or Equivalent - Preferred
* Associates Degree or Equivalent in Electronic Course Track - Preferred
* 5+ years’ experience in Electronic Troubleshooting - Preferred
* Fundamental computer skills for diagnostic testing - Preferred
* IPC A-610 Class II Certification - Preferred
* J-STD 7711 Certification (Repair/Rework Certification) - Preferred
* Ability to work with moderate supervision - Preferred
* Experience hand soldering circuit boards - Required
* Exposure to problem solving and root cause/corrective action tools/processes - Required
* Color Vision (Needed to see colored LED’s and wires) - Required
