    This position will be supporting new graduate nurses on Medical-Surgical units.

    Job Summary and Qualifications

     

    The Resource Nurse supports high quality, patient-centered care by offering feedback, guidance, and mentoring to new graduate nurses and/or nurses that are transitioning to a new specialty. The Resource Nurse supports multiple units. The Resource Nurse provides guidance and education on the hospital’s standard of nursing practice, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with all accrediting and regulatory agency requirements.

    What you will do in this role:

    + Performs rounds on each nursing unit

    + Observes and assesses the quality of patient care being delivered

    + Identify nursing educational needs

    + Escalate concerns about nursing skills, patient care, policies, processes, and equipment as appropriate

    + Ensure that nurses within scope of support have a clear understanding of how to integrate patient experience into nursing practice.

    What qualifications you will need:

    + Bachelor's Degree required; Master’s degree in Nursing or Related Field preferred

    + 3+ years of experience in relevant work experience required

    + 1+ year(s) of experience in a leadership role preferred; 1+ year(s) of experience in a Preceptor role preferred

    + Current license as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation required

    + Basic Life Support (BLS) required

    + Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required

    + Preceptor Training (90 Day grace period) required

    + National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) (30 Days grace period) required

    + Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) (90 Days grace period) required

    + Business Emergency Response Training (BERT) (90 Days grace period required)

    + Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) (12 months grace period required)

    + Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) (12 months grace period required)
