Position Purpose:

At Mercy Care, we believe in serving with compassion, dignity, and excellence. As a _Medical Office Specialist_ , you will be the first point of contact for patients, playing a vital role in ensuring seamless and welcoming front desk operations. Your attention to detail and customer service will help our patients feel valued and supported.

What You Will Do:

+ Greet clients and visitors, answer phones, and direct inquiries.

+ Accurately collect and enter patient demographic and financial information.

+ Verify insurance eligibility and collect payments.

+ Manage appointment scheduling and daily front-desk operations.

+ Enter billing information using the Patient Care Network System.

+ Act as liaison between patients and medical/support staff.

+ Participate in 1-2 weekend health fairs or community events annually.

+ Serve patients across age groups, with a focus on adults and geriatric populations.

Minimum Qualifications:

+ High school diploma or equivalent.

+ At least two years of computer literacy, including Word and Excel.

+ 2–3 years of experience in a private physician’s office or community health center preferred.

+ Minimum one year of experience with billing for Medicare, Medicaid, HMOs, and commercial insurance.

+ Bilingual in English and Spanish required.

+ Familiarity with OSHA and HIPAA guidelines preferred.
