    Ed Herrington Inc. is currently seeking full-time Assistant Service Technician for daytime Monday – Friday, 7a – 4p, Every other Saturday 7a-1p.

    Summary

    An Assistant Service Tech working independently or under the Lead Service Tech in the field, interfaces with sales and customer service to provide our customers with timely service on warranty and non-warranty products by performing the following duties.

     

    Essential Job Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

     

    + Inspects, troubleshoots and analyzes customer claims for complaints to ensure effective and timely repair of product; considers factors such as installation, application, exposure, maintenance and warranty.

    + Documents and submits inspection reports to Customer Service Coordinator in a timely manner; goal is 48 hours from time on site.

    + Communicates potential product development opportunities to Customer Service Coordinator.

    + Performs product installation, repairs and preventative maintenance. Fits and installs prefabricated window and door parts and subassemblies, weather stripping, trim, glass and hardware such as locks and handles.

    + Takes extra effort to protect our customers’ property while performing our work by utilizing boot covers, tarps, drop cloths or whatever necessary to protect the clients’ house.

    + Must leave all field work areas ‘broom clean’ without any debris left inside or outside our clients’ house.

    + Communicates and administers warranty policies and procedures clearly and accurately in collaboration with the customer and the Customer Service Coordinator.

    + Responsible for reviewing their schedule multiple days in advance to make sure there are no conflicts or concerns before the scheduled date of service. If an issue exists, communicate immediately with the appropriate people to make the necessary adjustments ahead of the scheduled appointment.

    + Communicates any schedule changes immediately; first making a call to the customer and then to the Customer Service Coordinator.

    + Performs quality control inspections on incoming material prior to jobs being scheduled.

    + Facilitates product and service training for construction community.

    + Maintains company equipment, vehicle, tools, and materials inventoried in vehicle. Company vehicle must be cleaned regularly on the outside and inside to maintain a professional image. Tools must be handled professionally and without abuse.

    + Expenses must be managed by maintaining all receipts and turning them in by the end of the billing month. Expenses would cover gas receipts, purchase receipts and any other receipts covered by the company credit cards and all out of pocket expenses.

    + Participates in all required training assignments.

    + Displays teamwork and effort in performance of all duties.

     

    Supports the goals and objectives of Ed Herrington, Inc. through adherence to company policies, safety guidelines, and work requirements for successful completion of all assignments.

    Qualifications

    Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and a good driving record. Ability to work independently. Requires excellent organizational, communication, time and project management skills. Must have general mechanical and carpentry skills. Requires excellent problem solving and decision making skills; strong attention to detail. Must be a self-starter with a strong work ethic and be flexible as priorities and schedule changes. Must be sensitive to customer’s needs and conveys sense of urgency. Personal appearance to reflect a positive, professional image. Demonstrates patience, persuasiveness and diplomacy in difficult situations.

    Education/Experience

    Licensed builder/contractor or one to two years related experience and/or training in millwork or building industry preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Andersen DSN certified through pre-employment or post-employment training.

     

    Language Skills

     

    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

     

    Mathematical Skills

     

    Ability to calculate figures & amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, & volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

     

    Reasoning Ability

     

    Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

    Physical requirements

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

     

    Working conditions

     

    The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; & risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
