    Our client, a leading innovator in the automotive industry, is seeking a Sr. Materials Engineer – Automotive Interiors to join their dynamic team. As a Sr. Materials Engineer – Automotive Interiors, you will be part of the Vehicle Engineering department supporting cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will demonstrate creativity, analytical thinking, and a proactive attitude, which will align successfully within the organization.

     

    **Job Title:** Sr. Materials Engineer – Automotive Interiors

    **Location:** Fremont, California

    **Pay Range:** $70-$85 per hour

     

    What's the Job?

     

    + Develop surface materials and their composite constructions to meet seating and interior product requirements throughout the product lifecycle, from concept to production.

    + Derive material-level requirements from system-level specifications through detailed observation and analysis of system interactions.

    + Correlate material specifications with end-product reliability data to ensure quality and durability.

    + Collaborate closely with product design and testing engineers to validate material performance at the system level.

    + Create detailed 3D and 2D documentation of material design data, integrating with CAD and engineering drawings.

     

    What's Needed?

     

    + Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Materials, Textile, or Product Design engineering disciplines.

    + At least 2 years of experience working with artificial leather, textiles, polyurethane foams, polymers, and elastomers.

    + Experience with instrumentation and quantitative analysis, including stress testing, abrasion testing, microscopy, and failure analysis.

    + Strong fundamentals in mechanical engineering principles such as statics, kinematics, dynamics, vibrations, GD&T, and statistical analysis.

    + Proficiency in technical communication channels, including 3D modeling, 2D drawing, prototyping, and data presentation.
