    Position Summary:

    Belcan is seeking a skilled Master Machinist to provide hands-on support in precision machining operations, training, and process optimization within a dynamic manufacturing environment. This role involves operating and programming 3-axis and 5-axis milling machines, turning centers, and conducting part probing operations across a variety of CNC platforms including Fanuc, Haas, Okuma, and DMG controls. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in complex machining processes, strong mentorship capabilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality components to meet exacting aerospace and industrial standards.

    Responsibilities:

    * Provide expert-level guidance on the setup and operation of multi-axis milling and turning machines

    * Support the onboarding and skill development of machinists by delivering hands-on training, process oversight, and technical coaching

    * Advise on best practices for part probing, in-process inspection, and machine optimization to ensure dimensional accuracy and repeatability

    * Review and interpret engineering drawings, tool paths, and machining strategies to support efficient, high-quality production

    * Collaborate with manufacturing and quality teams to troubleshoot issues, improve machining processes, and reduce scrap or rework

    * Recommend tooling, fixturing, and programming improvements tailored to equipment platforms including Fanuc, Haas, Okuma, and DMG

    * Document and communicate process changes, technical observations, and recommendations to stakeholders and engineering teams

    Core Qualifications:

    * 15+ years of hands-on experience as a machinist, with deep expertise in 3-axis and 5-axis milling as well as turning operations

    * Proficiency in part probing techniques and interpreting inspection data

    * Strong experience working with Fanuc controls, as well as operating Haas, Okuma, and DMG equipment

    * Demonstrated ability to work independently and troubleshoot complex machining issues

    * Proven track record of mentoring junior machinists and supporting onboarding efforts

    * Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required

    Preferred Qualifications

    * Prior experience supporting suppliers in a consulting, advisor, or contractor capacity

    * Experience interfacing with global engineering stakeholders to implement design or process changes

    * Strong problem-solving and communication skills, particularly in fast-paced production environments

    * Strong experience in CMM Programming
