    Basic Job Functions:

    The Truck Shop Lead is responsible for leading the truck shop team to achieve the highest standards of safety, quality, and productivity. This position oversees and actively participates in all truck shop operations, including but not limited to:

     

    + Scheduling and coordinating preventative maintenance. Especially as it pertains to FMCSA regulations.

    + Assigning and monitoring repair work.

    + Managing parts pricing with vendors and ordering.

    + Maintaining appropriate inventory levels.

    + Communicating effectively with drivers, logistics team, and loading crew.

    + Performing hands-on work as needed.

    + Train, develop, and expand team expectations to support departmental and enterprise growth.

    + Demonstrate forward-thinking and proactive leadership to improve processes and drive continuous improvement.

    + Be available to work overtime, weekends, and holidays with little or no notice when required.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    + 1 year of work experience in a mechanical/industrial work environment.

    + Must have a valid driver's license and must be able to attain a minimum CDL B (CDL A preferred) within a year.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + 1 year of leadership experience with direct reports.

    + Diesel Mechanic certification(s)

    + Proven Tractor (Class 8)/Trailer (air brakes), Forklift, and other heavy equipment mechanical experience.

    + Experience in all aspects of maintenance requirements of commercial vehicles and a familiarity with federal and state regulations governing them.

    + Experience working with vendors and negotiating prices/rates.

    + Experience managing inventory.

    + Working knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Office tools.

    + Class A CDL holder.
