Position Summary
We are seeking a hands-on Second-Shift Floor Manager to lead and build our growing
production team at our Mt. Sterling, KY facility.
This is a newly created role—the successful candidate will begin by training on first shift
to learn our complete steel flooring production process (from raw material through
galvanizing to final assembly). After the training period, you will transition to leading our
new second shift, taking ownership of its staffing, workflow, quality, and safety
performance.
This position is ideal for a proven manufacturing leader who thrives in a dynamic

Key Responsibilities
• Lead all production activities on second shift after initial training on first shift.
• Supervise and coach production employees, including performance management
• and scheduling.
• Ensure daily production goals are met for quality, output, and safety.
• Maintain clear and consistent communication with first-shift and plant leadership
• to ensure seamless shift handovers.
• Track and report shift performance metrics (output, scrap, downtime, labor
• efficiency).
• Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, accountability, and continuous
• improvement.
• Coordinate with maintenance and quality teams to resolve issues quickly and
• minimize downtime.
• Oversee material flow and ensure proper organization and cleanliness (5S) of the
• production floor.
• Support hiring, onboarding, and training of new second-shift employees as the team
• grows.
• Contribute to process improvements, standard work procedures, and new shift
• setup activities.
Qualifications
Required:
• 3+ years of leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing or metal
• fabrication environment.
• Strong understanding of production processes, scheduling, and team management.
• Proven track record of meeting production targets while maintaining safety and
• quality standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot production issues.
• Willingness to work second shift and occasional overtime as needed.
• High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Preferred:
• Background in manufacturing, steel fabrication, welding, or galvanizing.
• Experience launching or managing a new shift or department.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing, 5S, or continuous improvement principles.
• Experience in the agricultural equipment or building materials industry.
Working Environment
• Industrial manufacturing setting (steel fabrication and galvanizing).
• Standing, walking, and operating around heavy equipment required.
• Use of PPE (safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and steel-toe boots).
• Training on first shift before transition to permanent second-shift schedule.
**Pay Details:** $25.00 to $30.00 per hour
