    The Woodland Job Corps Center provides students with the opportunity toearn their High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED), along withhands-on trainingin:

    + 🍳 Culinary Arts

    + 🍽 Advanced Training – Culinary Arts and Hotel & Lodging

    •Position Summary: Recreation Staff

     

    Responsible for working with the Recreation team to provide students with acomprehensive and diverse recreation program. Promotes health and wellness through overseeing the recreation activities as outlined on the approved recreation schedule.

    + Monday to Friday:Off

    + Saturday & Sunday:10:00 AM – 9:00 PM

    •Key Responsibilities

    + Follow allintegrity guidelinesand procedures; ensure no manipulation of student data.

    + Assist with thesupervision of a comprehensive and diverse recreation program.

    + Coordinate recreation activities withCPP and Social Development, including evening programming.

    + Coordinate recreation and leadership activities/programs withCenter and local community resources.

    + Ensuresafe practicesand program compliance within prescribed safety guidelines.

    + Documentstudent participation and accountabilityduring recreation activities.

    + Maintaininventory of equipment and materials, control use, recommend purchases, and perform repairs.

    + Overseeappearance, condition, and organizationof the recreation department facilities.

    + May overseestudent recreation aide program.

    + Producequality workin a thorough, timely, and accurate manner.

    + Maintainpersonal attendance, accountability, and work productivity standards.

    + Plan, prioritize, and organize assignments to meet established goals and deadlines.

    + Understand and applyjob knowledgeto effectively complete all responsibilities; maintain required skills.

    + Mentor, monitor, and model theCareer Success Standardsas required by the PRH.

    + Providehigh-quality supervision and managementfor the student population; positively influence student behavior.

    + Provide timelyoperational supportfor Center operations to ensure quality programs and services.

    + Exchange ideas and information clearly, contributing meaningfully to group efforts.

    + Effectively articulate thoughts and ideas; identify problems, analyze causes, evaluate solutions, and follow up to ensure issues are resolved.

    + Work in partnership with staff from all departments to ensure effective supervision and services.

    + Accept direction fromCenter Director/Center Duty Officer/Shift Manager, including temporary assignments in other departments.

    + Performother duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    •Qualifications & Education

    + High School Diplomarequired (or equivalent GED)

    + Preferred:Minimum of 1 year experience working in ayouth-focused setting

    + Strong interpersonal and communication skills

    + Ability to mentor, motivate, and positively influence young people

    + Ability to work aflexible schedule, including weekends
