TheWoodland Job Corps Centerprovides students with the opportunity toearn their High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED), and hands-on training in the following areas:
+ Electrical Wiring
+ Carpentry
+ Building Construction Technology
+ Culinary Arts
+ Advanced Training – Culinary Arts
+ Hotel & Lodging
We also assist students withjob placementupon completion of their educational and career technical training.

•POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible to provide students withtransitional support and placement servicesleading tofull-time jobs, higher education, or advanced training. Works cooperatively withCareer Technical Training and Career Transition staffto provide students withcomprehensive and individualized case managementto identify and remediatestudents’ transitional barriers. Usesproper discretion and judgmentto resolve issues and ensurestudent success after Job Corps. Conducts effectivecommunity job development activitieswith key business and community leaders.
•MANAGEMENT & SUPERVISION
+ Maysupervise assigned students performing intern duties, providinghands-on guidanceand ensuringactive engagement in learning and work experiences
•RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Follows allintegrity guidelines and proceduresand ensuresno manipulation of student data
+ Supportseducational and related placement goalsfor assigned students
+ EnsuresContract meets or exceeds DOL/Company performance goals
+ Establishessupportive/mentoring relationshipswith students during theCareer Transition Phase
+ Providespersonalized career counselingand evaluates student performance
+ Oversees, develops, monitors, and updatesstudent transition plansto ensuresuccessful outcomes
+ DevelopsCenter-beneficial business and community linkagesthat provide students withquality and industry relevant employment opportunities
+ Producesquality work/assignments in a thorough, timely and accurate manner
+ Maintainsappropriate personal attendance, accountability and work productivity standards
+ Plans, prioritizes, and organizes assignments to meetestablished goals and deadlines
+ Understands and appliesjob knowledgeto effectively complete all required job responsibilities. Proactively maintains theskills required to perform job duties
+ Mentors, monitors, and models theCareer Success Standardsas required by the PRH
+ Provideshigh-quality supervision and managementfor the student population. Takesswift and appropriate actionand positively influencesstudent behavior. Showsrespect and courtesyto students and holds them accountable for their actions and behavior
+ Providesquality programs and services for studentsand ensures thatquality is maintainedandstudent needs are met. Pursuesimprovement and enhancement of programs and services
+ Exchanges ideas and information, bothorally and in writing, in a clear and concise manner and contributes meaningfully to group efforts by offering relevant ideas and knowledge. Providesquality and timely informationto DOL/Company when requested
+ Effectively articulates thoughts and ideas. Identifies problems, analyzes causes, and evaluatesappropriate solutionsprior to taking or recommending actions. Follows up to ensureprompt/appropriate actionis taken and thatproblems are corrected
+ Works in partnership withstaff from all Departmentsto ensureeffective supervision and servicesare provided to students
+ Acceptsdirection and supervisionfrom the Center Director/Center Duty Officer/Shift Manager to include assignments to temporarily performjob responsibilities of other departments and positions
+ Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
•QUALIFICATIONS
+ Bachelor's degreeinhuman services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, business, communications, or closely related field from an accredited school;OR
+ Associates degreeinhuman services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, business, communications, or closely related field from an accredited schoolANDtwo years’ related experience
+ Must possess avalid in-State Driver’s Licenseand meet theCompany insurability requirements
