Job Title: Quality Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Quality Engineer to join our team. This role involves performing various tests and inspections on products and components to ensure quality and compliance with established standards. You will work closely with engineering and operations teams to validate designs and ensure line readiness, contributing to our continuous improvement efforts.
Responsibilities
+ Perform incoming tests and inspections using gauges, meters, and test fixtures.
+ Execute functional, environmental, and reliability tests per SOPs and standards, recording results accurately.
+ Develop, build, and maintain test setups and fixtures.
+ Develop, write, and maintain accurate test plans, records, and electronic logs.
+ Create and revise inspection instructions, checklists, and visual standards.
+ Ensure lot traceability and conformity per control plans.
+ Identify defects and quarantine nonconforming materials.
+ Lead 8D creation and support root-cause analysis using 5-Why and Ishikawa methods.
+ Implement corrective and preventive actions, verifying the effectiveness of 8Ds and ensuring timely closure.
+ Analyze test data and chart yields, defects, and trends.
+ Recommend improvements using Lean/6σ tools and run small kaizens.
+ Provide feedback to suppliers and assist with supplier SCARs.
+ Partner with engineering on design validations and with operations on line readiness.
Essential Skills
+ 2+ years of experience in a quality, test, or manufacturing technician role.
+ Proficiency with hand metrology tools and basic electrical/functional test equipment.
+ Strong documentation discipline and comfort with ERP/MES and Excel/Google Sheets.
+ Familiarity with ISO 9001 or similar QMS and basic statistical concepts (Cp/Cpk, control charts).
+ Ability to read technical drawings and specifications, with an understanding of tolerances (GD&T a plus).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Associate or bachelor's degree in engineering technology, quality, or related field.
+ Experience with PPAP/FAI, PFMEA, control plans, and supplier quality processes.
+ Basic scripting/automation for data collection (e.g., Python, VBA) is a plus.
+ Understanding of radio frequency theory and operation.
+ ASQ certification (CQE, CQT, or similar) or equivalent experience.
Work Environment
The position is based in a traditional office and lab setting within a climate-controlled environment. The work hours are from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, and it is a fully onsite role, with no hybrid or remote work options available.

This is a Permanent position based out of Kansas City, MO.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $72500.00/yr.
