    Job Title: Junior EH&S SpecialistJob Description

     

    We are seeking a dedicated Junior EH&S Specialist to support audits, inspections, and investigations, and coordinate the resolution of issues. The role involves facilitating risk management decisions, developing and reviewing Lockout/Tagout Procedures, and conducting regular walkthroughs to monitor behaviors, activities, and conditions. You will also be responsible for coaching and mentoring employees, delivering environmental, health, and safety training, conducting hazard assessments and ergonomic evaluations, reviewing proposed new chemicals, processes, and equipment, and leading investigations for all incidents and accidents to ensure timely completion of corrective actions.

    Responsibilities

    + Support audits, inspections, and investigations.

    + Facilitate risk management decisions with management.

    + Develop and review Lockout/Tagout Procedures.

    + Conduct regular walkthroughs to monitor behaviors, activities, and conditions.

    + Coach and mentor employees.

    + Deliver environmental, health, and safety trainings.

    + Conduct Hazard Assessments and Ergonomic Evaluations.

    + Review proposed new chemicals, processes, and equipment.

    + Lead investigations for incidents and accidents and ensure timely completion of corrective actions.

    + Manage SDS Database and chemical inventory.

    + Support SPCC, air emissions, wastewater, and stormwater testing, monitoring, recordkeeping, and reporting.

    + Manage hazardous and medical waste program.

    + Support ISO14001 Implementation.

    + Identify and support continuous improvement opportunities.

    Essential Skills

    + Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Safety Management, or Life Science Field.

    + Proficiency in environmental compliance, EHS, and OSHA regulations (specifically 29 CFR 1910).

    + High organizational and analytical skills.

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

    + Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

    + Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.

    + Self-motivated and proactive team player.

    + Ability to adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Industry experience in Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) preferred.

    + Prior wastewater testing experience is a plus.

    + Experience in GMP, GLP, or FDA regulated environment is highly preferred but not required.

    Work Environment

    The work environment is business casual with a clean room setting. The role entails a 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with a first shift from 8 AM to 5 PM and some flexibility. This is a 4-month contract with the potential for extension or conversion, using the contract role as a business case for long-term need.

    This is a Contract position based out of Vandalia, OH.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $28.00/hr.
