    Job Description

    The Bioprocess Technician will perform duties associated with aseptic processes, including weighing, measuring, counting, calculations, sampling, and verifications for biological production processes. These tasks must align with batch production records (BPR) and comply with current good manufacturing practice (cGMP) standards, safety standards, and site procedures.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform duties related to aseptic processes as per BPR and cGMP standards.

    + Maintain basic knowledge in fermentation, centrifuge, concentration units, and biological organisms.

    + Operate production equipment, ensuring all equipment, instruments, and production materials are released and available for use.

    + Conduct transactions within the electronic inventory management system.

    + Oversee production processes, cleaning, environmental monitoring, and personnel while conducting in-process batch quality checks.

    + Adhere to safety rules, wear appropriate safety equipment, and maintain proper safety practices.

    + Utilize basic computer skills to create and update standard operating procedures and write deviation reports.

    + Participate in training related to general company procedures, area procedures, equipment operation, computer operation, safety, and GMP.

    + Generate and collect new ideas about workplace and processes.

    + Read and interpret batch records, quality, and safety documentation.

    Essential Skills

    + Basic knowledge in fermentation, centrifuge, concentration units, and biological organisms.

    + Understanding of production equipment operation.

    + Basic computer skills for creating and updating standard operating procedures and writing reports.

    + Ability to read and interpret batch records, quality, and safety documentation.

    + Aseptic technique and documentation skills.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + High School Diploma required.

    + AAS or BA in Biotechnology or a related scientific field preferred.

    + Previous experience in a manufacturing or production setting preferred.

    Work Environment

    The Bioprocess Technician will work on the production floor, overseeing batches and their quality. The role involves working with fermentation systems, vessels, centrifuges, and other large-scale production systems. There will be significant instrumentation and mechanical work, requiring a big-picture mindset, quick thinking, and multitasking abilities. The position is on the 1st shift, from 6AM to 2:30PM, and will not involve working in a lab but may require minimal time in lab-related activities. Benefits include PTO and paid holidays.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $29.00 - $29.00/hr.
