We are seeking a detail-oriented Manufacturing Quality Technician to conduct in-process, first article, and final inspections of high-precision electrical devices. This role involves utilizing metrology instruments to verify mechanical and electrical specifications, performing functional testing, and supporting root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Responsibilities
+ Conduct in-process, first article, and final inspections of high-precision electrical devices.
+ Utilize metrology instruments such as micrometers, CMMs, leak testers, and multimeters to verify specifications.
+ Perform functional testing according to standard operating procedures and product specifications.
+ Record, analyze, and report inspection and test data.
+ Support root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions for nonconformances.
+ Collaborate with teams to troubleshoot quality issues related to semi-automated systems.
+ Perform visual and dimensional inspections of in-process materials and final products.
+ Enhance and maintain quality control practices to support company goals.
+ Review, enhance, and advise on standard operating procedures and work instructions.
+ Verify materials and parts against documented requirements and document inspection results accurately.
+ Identify and report non-conformances, driving root cause analysis and corrective actions.
+ Ensure compliance with internal quality procedures and industry standards.
+ Work closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to support continuous improvement initiatives.
+ Participate in audits, process verifications, and quality review meetings.
+ Support qualification and validation of new equipment, materials, and process changes.
+ Ensure adherence to safety standards and cleanroom or ESD control protocols.
Essential Skills
+ 3+ years of experience in manufacturing quality control.
+ Strong understanding of manufacturing quality principles, data collection, and measurement system analysis.
+ Proficiency with inspection tools and electrical test equipment.
+ Competency in data analysis, documentation, and digital quality record systems.
+ Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills.
+ Effective collaboration across cross-functional teams.
+ Familiarity with semi-automated and robotic production equipment.
+ Basic knowledge of high-tech grade materials, such as specialty metals and high-purity gases.
+ Experience following and improving standard operating procedures.
+ Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
+ Good computer skills, including proficiency in Google Suite or Microsoft Office.
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in ISO 9001, AS9100, or automotive quality systems (IATF).
+ Familiarity with Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or Quality Technician certification (e.g., ASQ CQT).
+ Working knowledge of electrical test methods (resistance, capacitance, leakage, functional actuation tests).
Work Environment
This position is onsite in Berkeley and requires candidates to be within a 45-minute commute. The role may require off-shift or weekend work to support production or qualification activities. You will work in a cleanroom or lab environment, handling small and delicate parts, and may need to perform precise manual inspections of small parts under a microscope for extended periods. The role involves standing, lifting up to 30 lbs, and may require the use of personal protective equipment and handling chemical materials with proper safety measures.

This is a Contract position based out of Berkeley, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
