Job Title: Carpenter

Job Description

We are seeking skilled carpenters to join our team with positions available in various areas including framing, floor department, cabinet shop, drywall, and final finishing. The typical work schedule for the 1st shift is Monday through Friday from 6:30 am to 3 pm, though flexibility is required as there is no exact finish time. Candidates may occasionally stay for up to a 10+ hour shift, but this is rare. The goal is to complete 4 units per day.

Responsibilities

+ Framing: Cut 2's to length and use air nail guns to build walls, often using a jig for squaring up walls. Attach drywall to studded walls using a nail gun.

+ Floor Department: Frame floors with 2 joists, nail subfloors, and insulate flooring.

+ Drywall: Cut holes in drywall to fit around pipes/fixtures, read tape measures, screw drywall to wall panels, and finish with tape and paste.

+ Cabinet Shop: Assemble and install cabinets in kitchens and bathrooms, cut and install countertops, trim out cabinetry, and complete the installation process.

+ Final Finishing: Finish units by hanging blinds or drapes, installing appliances, cleaning carpets, and wiping down units.

Essential Skills

+ Previous construction experience, which can be personal experience such as building a deck or through formal education like vo-tech.

+ Ability to read a tape measure.

+ Experience with hand tools.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Prior construction and/or carpentry experience preferred.

+ Solid work experience and good interview skills are advantageous.

+ No certifications required.

Work Environment

Work in a fast-paced, indoor prefab manufacturing environment where buildings are constructed from the ground up. The job requires physical activity, including lifting boards and heavy items up to 50 pounds, and performing tasks such as cutting, drilling, sawing, and nailing. The company offers a stable work environment with good feedback from contractors.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Leola, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.
