    Job Title: NDT Level II Inspector

    Job Description

    We are seeking a qualified NDT Level II Inspector with documented certification in accordance with the Level II requirements of ASNT SNT-TC-1A, 2016 Edition. The ideal candidate will possess an IRRSP certification from an approved entity and have passed written and practical examinations related to RT inspection of piping, casting, and structural welds. Further examinations will be conducted to ensure proficiency in various inspection methods.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform RT inspections on piping, casting, and structural welds in a ship or shop environment.

    + Conduct MT inspections on structural welds, including minor grinding for relevancy checks.

    + Demonstrate proficiency through practical examinations in each NDT inspection method.

    + Maintain records of training, experience, examination results, and vision tests.

    + Ensure adherence to specifications, codes, and acceptance criteria in NDT procedures.

    + Work in confined spaces, climb vertical ladders, and perform tasks in elevated areas.

    + Lift up to 50 lbs and handle equipment as required for inspection tasks.

    Essential Skills

    + Certification to Level II requirements of ASNT SNT-TC-1A, 2016 Edition.

    + IRRSP certification from an approved entity.

    + Minimum 4 years of NDT experience with current VT and MT certifications at Level 2.

    + Proficiency in visual, magnetic particle, radiography, and visual testing methods.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Documented training hours and experience records.

    + Ability to pass a visual acuity exam using Jaeger 1 letters.

    + Capability to work any shift, including weekends and up to 12-hour shifts as needed.

    Work Environment

     

    Work in a shipyard located in Southeast Virginia, where conditions vary with hot and muggy summers and cool winters. Tasks will be performed on Navy vessels or in a shop environment. Be prepared to work in a physically demanding setting that includes climbing, crawling, and handling equipment in confined spaces. Various shifts are available, including 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts to accommodate different schedules.

    This is a Contract position based out of Houston, TX.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $46.00 - $46.00/hr.
