    Job Title: 3rd Shift General Production

    Job Description

    A manufacturing company for packaging supplies is seeking a General Helper to perform general manual labor tasks, including loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materials that go into manufacturing equipment for the corrugated industry.

    Responsibilities

    + Attach identifying tags to containers or mark them with identifying information.

    + Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments and material and equipment needs.

    + Record numbers of units handled and moved, using daily production sheets or work tickets.

    + Move freight, stock, and other materials to and from storage and production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, and containers by hand or using trucks, tractors, and other equipment.

    + Sort cargo before loading and unloading.

    + Assemble product containers and crates using hand tools and precut lumber.

    + Load and unload ship cargo using winches and other hoisting devices.

    + Pack containers and re-pack damaged containers.

    + Carry needed tools and supplies from storage or trucks, and return them after use.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience in production and manufacturing environments.

    + Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and short correspondence.

    + Comfortable with repetitive bending, lifting, and twisting.

    + Strong verbal and written communication skills.

    + Analytical and problem-solving abilities.

    + Team player and detail-oriented.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience as a machine operator is a plus.

    Work Environment

     

    The role is based in a large production facility that is very loud due to machinery. Safety equipment such as earplugs, safety glasses, vests, and masks are provided. The position requires working Monday through Saturday from 9:30 pm to 6 am, with a workweek ranging from 40 to 60 hours. Must be comfortable working in a physically demanding environment.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fullerton, CA.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $20.77 - $20.77/hr.
