Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Level III Machinist to join our expansive machine shop team. The successful candidate will be responsible for cutting, drilling, grinding, and deburring metal parts according to blueprint and instruction specifications, ensuring quality at every step of the process. This role requires versatility, as the machinist will assist with various tasks in the machine shop to ensure smooth production flow.
Responsibilities
+ Operate CNC machines and set up machinery for production.
+ Transport materials using forklifts and pallet jacks.
+ Perform quality checks using dial gauges, calipers, micrometers, and tape measures.
+ Deburr parts and perform 'cut plug' tasks using air-powered tools.
+ Follow control plans and quality standards for assigned machines or jobs.
+ Troubleshoot and solve everyday operational problems.
+ Maintain high standards of housekeeping and adhere to safety protocols.
Essential Skills
+ Experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly with CNC machines.
+ Proficiency in using gauging equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and dial bores.
+ Strong math skills for gauging accuracy and quality checks.
+ Experience operating both sit-down and stand-up forklifts.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with blueprint reading and quality inspection on finished parts.
+ Deburring experience is preferred.
+ Ability to read and interpret metric measuring devices.

Work Environment
Work in a huge, temperature-controlled facility that values safety and cleanliness. The relaxed dress code allows sweatshirts, t-shirts, and hats. Shifts are flexible, with opportunities on 2nd and 3rd shifts. Safety is a priority, with PPE provided, including steel toe shoes, earplugs, and protective glasses. The shop follows strict policies on cell phone use and listening devices to ensure a safe working environment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lafayette, IN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.47 - $24.47/hr.
