    Pipe Fitters – Charlotte, NC

    **Pay:** $30–$35 per hour

    **Job Type:** Contract

     

    About the Role

     

    We are looking for skilled **Pipe Fitters** with experience in fabricating, assembling, and installing piping systems using **copper** and **carbon steel** . The ideal candidate will be proficient in blueprint interpretation, isometric drawings, and pipefitting standards to ensure precise layout and alignment.

    Responsibilities

    + Interpret blueprints, P&IDs, and isometric drawings for accurate pipe routing.

    + Perform material take-offs and calculations for copper and carbon steel systems.

    + Cut, thread, groove, and bevel pipe ends using appropriate tools.

    + Fabricate pipe spools and assemblies with precise measurements.

    + Install piping systems ensuring correct pitch, alignment, and support spacing.

    + Fit and align pipe sections using clamps and alignment tools.

    + Secure joints via brazing, soldering (copper), and welding prep (carbon steel).

    + Install flanges, gaskets, valves, and hangers with proper torque.

    + Conduct hydrostatic and pneumatic pressure tests for system integrity.

    + Inspect joints for leaks and compliance with specifications.

    + Follow OSHA safety standards and PPE requirements.

    + Collaborate with welders, plumbers, and supervisors to meet project timelines.

    Requirements

    + **Experience:** 3–5 years in pipefitting with copper and carbon steel.

    + **Skills:** Brazing, soldering, threading, and blueprint reading.

    + Familiarity with pipefitting tools and industry codes (ANSI, NFPA).

    + Ability to lift heavy materials and work in confined spaces.

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Pipefitting or Plumbing Certification.

    + Experience with industrial piping (HVAC, process piping, mechanical systems).

    + OSHA 10/30 certification.

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr.
