    Job Title: Pipe Welder

    Job Description

    A leading manufacturer and distributor of mechanical seals is seeking an experienced Pipe Welder to join their team. The role involves welding on pipes and pressure vessels ranging from 4" to 10" in diameter, primarily for the seals and pump industry. The work is conducted in position, with the ability to rotate pipes, utilizing MIG root and Flux Core fill and cap techniques.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform welding on pipes and pressure vessels of varying sizes and materials.

    + Fabricate parts for the seals and pump industry, adapting to diverse job shop tasks.

    + Execute MIG root welding and Flux Core fill and cap on a rollout.

    + Conduct weld tests on 6" pipe schedule 40.

    Essential Skills

    + Minimum of 7 years of experience in pipe welding.

    + Proficiency in welding pipe on a rollout.

    + Ability to weld 4" schedule 10 pipe up to 10" schedule 160.

    + Expertise in MIG and Flux Core Welding.

    + Experience with carbon steel and stainless steel 306 & 316.

    + Familiarity with blueprint reading and short arc MIG welding.

    + Knowledge of GMAW, GTAW, and 6G welding techniques.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Extensive experience in MIG and Flux Core welding.

    + Competence in 6G welding and short arc MIG.

    + Ability to perform sub arc and TIG welding.

    + Experience welding on pressure vessels.

    + Capability to weld both thick and thin materials.

    Work Environment

     

    Work in a newer facility with a spacious area accommodating only 5-7 people. The environment is clean and non-air-conditioned, featuring open bay doors and fans. The Systems shop focuses on welding and assembly, while the Machine shop houses CNC programmers and machinists. The dress code includes steel-toe boots, jeans, a work shirt, and safety glasses. The position operates on a 1st shift schedule, Monday to Friday from 6:00 am to 6:30 pm, with Saturday hours depending on workflow.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, TX 77021.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
