Job Title: Utility Worker
Job Description
The utility worker will assist repair technicians and perform lower-level repairs and rework on electric vehicles to ensure each unit meets all functional and quality standards before release. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge.
Responsibilities
+ Perform mechanical and electrical repairs on electric vehicles according to defined processes.
+ Rework to correct manufacturing or assembly issues identified by Quality or Engineering.
+ Diagnose issues using tools, testing equipment, and diagnostic software.
+ Execute repairs following approved work instructions, torque specifications, and safety protocols.
+ Verify repair quality and functionality before vehicle release.
+ Document all repair and rework activities accurately in tracking systems or travelers.
+ Maintain organized, clean work areas and care for tools and equipment.
+ Follow all environmental, health, and safety (EHS) procedures, including high-voltage safety.
+ Communicate findings, part needs, and process improvements to team leads and engineering support.
+ Support continuous improvement efforts to reduce rework, improve first-time quality, and increase efficiency.
Essential Skills
+ 1 year of hands-on experience in assembly or auto mechanic work
+ Strong understanding of mechanical knowledge
+ Ability to understand and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and work instructions
+ Basic computer skills for data entry and work documentation
+ High school diploma or equivalent
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience from tech school or backyard mechanic work
+ Troubleshooting skills
+ Experience in utility construction
+ General production and assembly skills

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sturgis, MI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
