Description
We are looking for an Accounting Specialist to join our team in Stamford, Connecticut. In this role, you will handle essential financial operations and provide accurate accounting support for a diverse portfolio of clients. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and skilled in managing financial records while ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Responsibilities:
• Maintain and oversee the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and identifying discrepancies.
• Process invoices and manage bill payments, verifying details and resolving errors.
• Handle accounts receivable tasks, including preparing invoices, resolving issues, and ensuring timely deposits.
• Reconcile banking, credit card, brokerage, and retirement account transactions to ensure accurate treasury management.
• Conduct investment and partnership accounting by preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts.
• Generate financial reports and perform analytical reviews using accounting software.
• Process tax payments, ensuring compliance with deadlines and communicating cash needs to the team.
• Organize payroll processes for household or business employees in accordance with established workflows.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with external providers and clients, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
Requirements • Minimum of an associate degree in accounting or a related field; bachelor's degree preferred.
• 1-3 years of experience in accounting or a related role, with a focus on client service.
• Proficiency in general ledger software, QuickBooks, and Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong skills in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and invoice processing.
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with team members and external stakeholders.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
• Familiarity with payroll processes and tax compliance procedures is a plus.
