Responsibilities This position is being filled under AcqDemo Direct Hiring Authority (DHA) for non-acquisition positions involving 51% or more of time in direct support of acquisition positions within Business and Technical Management Professional Career path. As a SUPERVISORY TRANSPORTATION SPECIALIST at the NH-2101-4 some of your typical work assignments may include: Plan, organize, and direct the activities of Logistics Functional Branch, ensuring that Joint Transportation Management System Joint Program Office complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets DoD customer needs. Represent the JTMS logistics and transportation viewpoint for the program to senior leadership within the program office and supports the Program Manager as the focal point for external organization logistics/transportation operational and functional requirement related communications. Serve as the senior logistics/transportation advisor to the program manager as the spokesperson for logistics/transportation issues in major program reviews, inspections, conferences, and other program evaluations and major milestone events. Integrate functional requirements and review subordinate component command functional requirements to ensure effective and efficient development of an effective and efficient of a total budget for transportation acquisition programs and operations. Develop goals and objectives that integrate organization and acquisition objectives. and research, interpret, analyze and apply DoD, higher headquarters, Services, and command regulatory directives, guidance and procedures. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications You may qualify at the NH 04 , if you fulfill the following qualifications: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13/NH 03 grade level in the Federal service as listed below: Utilizing DoD transportation and logistics operations, policies, and procedures. Utilizing DoD transportation and logistics systems and data. Applying expertise in the development of transportation and logistics policies within the Federal Government, such as the Defense Transportation Regulation (DTR). Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Education Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
