    Position Description

    Kinder Morgan’s Natural Gas Business Unit is seeking a Learning Management System (LMS) Administrator to manage and optimize the Litmos LMS application. This role supports compliance training, content development, learner tracking, and reporting to meet regulatory and organizational goals.

     

    The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience with e-learning development tools—such as Articulate Storyline and storyboarding applications—alongside strong technical capabilities in LMS administration. A data-driven mindset is essential for analyzing training trends, assessing program effectiveness, and recommending strategic improvements.

     

    Work Schedule

     

    Kinder Morgan offers a hybrid work schedule: Monday through Wednesday in the office, with the option to work remotely on Thursday and Friday.

     

    Work Location

     

    This position will be based in Houston corporate office.

     

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

     

    + Administer and maintain the Litmos LMS, ensuring system functionality, data accuracy, and user accessibility.

    + Manage learning paths, curricula, certifications, and training assignments across multiple business groups.

    + Provide application support and training for LMS users and business unit administrators.

    + Develop and upload e-learning content using tools such as Articulate Storyline, Rise, and Storyboarding applications.

    + Partner with subject matter experts to design and update course content that meets regulatory and company standards.

    + Track, analyze, and report on training completion rates, learner performance, and compliance metrics.

    + Identify trends in training data and recommend targeted interventions to improve outcomes.

    + Work with Corporate LMS and business teams to identify enhancement requests and best practices

    + Coordinate LMS-related projects, ensuring deliverables are on time and within scope.

    + Maintain awareness of LMS best practices, industry trends, and new technologies.

    + Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the manager or director to support departmental and organizational objectives.

    *Position may be filled at various levels depending on the experience and job skills of the successful candidate.

    Position Requirements

    Required:

    + Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Instructional Design, HR Development, Info Systems, or related field.

    + Minimum of 3 years of experience administering Learning Management Systems.

    + Proficiency in e-learning authoring tools, including Articulate Storyline, Rise, and storyboarding software.

    + Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives concurrently.

    + Advanced skills in Excel or other data analysis and reporting tools.

    + Excellent organizational and time management abilities.

    + Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills, with effective verbal and written communication.

    + Demonstrated problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities.

    + Experience in compliance reporting and regulatory training environments.

    + Ability to work effectively in a team environment, follow supervisory direction, and adhere to schedules and work rules.

    + Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for travel).

    + This position requires limited travel, primarily for occasional meetings at other company locations or essential business activities. Travel is estimated at approximately 5%, and may include both ground and air transportation.

    Working Conditions:

    + Majority of the work will be conducted from an office environment. Extended periods of sitting may be required for administrative activities.

    + The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.

    + The nature of the work requires a significant amount of visual acuity for reading in both electronic and hard copy formats in order to review documents, proofread work, create documents, and perform tasks in KM’s EHS compliance systems.

    + Flexibility to work extended hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on operational needs.

     

    Preferred (above the minimum requirements; not required but advantageous in the position)

     

    + Knowledge of compliance training requirements in a corporate or regulated environment preferred.

    + Experience with PowerBI or Qlik analytic dashboard development a plus.

    + Experience with environmental, health, and safety terminology and practical field knowledge.

    + General understanding of the energy industry and familiar with industry terminology.

    + Working knowledge of databases.

    + Advanced proficiency level in MS Office applications including: Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint, SharePoint, MS Teams.

    + Professional certifications in an EHS discipline, or similar background, are considered a plus.

    + Professional certifications in a Computer Science discipline, Data Analytics, or similar background, are advantageous.
