ITW Automotive Global Plastic Fastener Platform is part of the Automotive Segment and serves all the major OEMs and their tier suppliers with plastic fasteners, totaling approximately $900M in revenues with locations throughout North America, Europe, China, Korea and Brazil.
Division Description
The Deltar Division is part of the Automotive Global Plastic Fastener Platform and serves the D3 as well as JOEM’s and their tier suppliers with innovative plastic fastener solutions. Total revenues of approx. $ 260m are produced in two manufacturing locations in Frankfort/Il and Chippewa Falls/Wi supported by a sales office in Troy/Mi.
The Division is considered a high growth business within ITW and has 450 employees.
The IT Director is responsible for setting the vision and direction for technology within the Division, enabling the business to achieve strategic and operational objectives using the 80/20 IT Framework. While accountable for delivering IT services, solutions, and outcomes at the divisional level, the IT Director must also ensure alignment with Segment and enterprise IT standards, strategies, and governance.
This role requires a leader who can operate effectively in a decentralized business environment while driving coordination across the broader segment and enterprise. The IT Director will build strong partnerships with divisional business leaders to understand priorities and deliver solutions, while also working closely with functional IT leaders at the regional and segment levels to maintain consistency, security, and scalability.
The IT Director not only provides oversight and guidance but also engages directly in critical projects, system implementations, and troubleshooting when needed to ensure commitments are met. The IT Director will ensure streamlined operations of the Division’s IT organization in alignment with both local business objectives and enterprise technology strategies.
Success in this role requires a driven, self-starter with excellent leadership, relationship management, and project management skills, who can bridge local needs with enterprise and segment standards, foster collaboration across divisions, and enable the safe and strategic use of technology to drive business value.
Responsibilities
Strategy & Planning
+ Partners with VP/GM and actively participates with leadership in strategy development and operational planning for the Division
+ Partners on long-range and annual plan development. Identifies implications for IT strategy along with recommendations to support longer-term business growth.
+ Lead the IT Department's operational and strategic planning, including fostering innovation, planning projects, and organizing and negotiating the allocation of resources.
+ Model hands-on leadership by engaging directly with teams, systems, and processes when necessary to remove roadblocks, accelerate delivery, and ensure commitments are achieved.
+ Use the ITW Toolbox (80/20, USa, etc) to analyze the Division's workflows and identify simplification opportunities. Work with end-users to implement simplification solutions.
Acquisition & Deployment
+ Benchmark, analyze, report on, and make recommendations for the improvement and growth of the IT infrastructure and IT systems.
+ Manage financial aspects of the IT Department, including purchasing, budgeting, and budget review.
+ Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT spending and initiatives.
+ Develop and implement all IT policies and procedures, including architecture, security, disaster recovery, standards, purchasing, and service provision.
+ Negotiate and administer vendor, outsource, and consultant contracts and service agreements.
Operational Management
+ Directly lead and, when necessary, participate in the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of IT systems, ensuring accountability for timely and high-quality delivery.

+ Work with stakeholders to define business and systems requirements for new technology implementations.
+ Keep current with the latest technologies.
+ Practice asset management for IT hardware, software, and equipment.
+ Manage IT staffing, including recruitment, supervision, scheduling, development, evaluation, and disciplinary actions.
+ Accountable for ensuring the Division complies with the Corporate ITW Cybersecurity Framework.
+ Actively oversees Cyber Security and Risk and ensures appropriate activities are identified and resources deployed for the risk level.
Position Requirements
Formal Education & Certification
+ University degree in the field of computer science or information systems and 15+ years of related work experience. Master of Business Administration preferred.
+ Experience at a global mid-market manufacturing company with $100M+ revenue is highly preferred.
Knowledge & Experience
+ Proven record in business transformation, IT strategy development, and execution
+ Strong technical knowledge of network and PC operating systems
+ Strong technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and standards
+ 5+ years' experience with multiple ERP platforms, including implementation and production support.
+ Proven experience in IT infrastructure planning and development.
Compensation Information:
$150,000-$170,000 plus bonus
