Part Time Janitor

Starting pay $18/hr

This position will work between 3 warehouses at the following addresses:

* 430 S Mclin Creek Rd, Conover, NC

* 3389 Catawba Industrial Pl, Catawba, NC

* 420 N Mclin Creek Rd, Conover, NC

Summary:

* Responsibility is to support the B. U. G. Specialist in performing tasks in the housekeeping and cleaning of the maintenance area and other designated areas in the plant along with any miscellaneous duties as assigned by department manager or any member of leadership. . Maintain housekeeping and 5S to standards set by management. Follow all WestRock Core Values and Behaviors. Additional job duties as assigned by department manager.

* Performs routine daily activities related to waste disposal, housekeeping.

* Assist B.U.G. Specialist with the organization of maintenance area, housekeeping and cleaning assigned areas.

* Assist B.U.G. Specialist with day to day activities of any building, utilities, and grounds issues.

* Assist with construction projects as needed.

* Miscellaneous duties as assigned by department manager and other members of leadership

* Relay and promote departmental activities, SQF, safety and other issues

* Be conscious of all safety issues/concerns.

Safety:

* PPE must be worn while on your job. At a minimum safety glasses, steel toe shoes and hearing protection. Glove are required on the production floor and ware houses at all times. Please see Appendix A and Appendix B (Conover Specific) attached to the WestRock Glove Policy (CompliantPro). Bump cap per company policy

* All safety policies and guidelines must be followed.

Training:

Training requirements for this position are maintained in the Training Module of Compliant Pro.

Compliance with all workplace rules, policies and procedures, i.e. SQF, safety, etc.

Protective Equipment Required: Safety glasses, hair nets, beard nets, composite/steel toe shoes, ear plugs, bump caps and gloves per glove policy.

* Testing and Measuring Ability (General Math): Ability to use and read basic measurement devices, (calculator, tape measure, and ruler). Lift truck (fork-lift) certification, operate pallet jack, and clamp truck. Excellent mechanical aptitude.

* Written/Verbal Communications Skills: Follow and provide detailed instructions for training and quality. Provide information to management and production associates.

* Computer Skills: Good computer skills (Email, MP2, Internet)

Essential/Marginal Functions and Physical Requirements

Essential: Walking around facility, housekeeping, lifting/carrying items, climbing stairs.

Marginal: Basic computer literacy, climbing ladder/scissor lift, etc.
