    THE POSITION

    Are you eager to begin the next chapter in your professional career while showcasing your legal expertise? If so, consider joining the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PBCB) as an Assistant Enforcement Counsel 1. This is an exciting opportunity to utilize your specialize skillset as you provide legal services and advice to the supervising attorney of the assigned regional Office of Enforcement Counsel (OEC). If you are a highly detail-oriented and motivated team player who is up for the challenge, we need you on our team!

    DESCRIPTION OF WORK

    In this position, you will serve as counsel with the Office of Enforcement Counsel (OEC), performing legal research confined to one or a few fields. Initially, attorneys in this class spend much of their time learning the techniques and requirements of governmental legal practice in their assigned areas. As you become more experienced in your work, you will complete assigned tasks of a routine nature with minimum supervision. A wide variety of legal work is performed including reviewing regulatory investigative reports and making recommendations to supervising counsel relating to the initiation of regulatory enforcement proceedings. Additional responsibilities include:

     

    + Reviewing gaming and non-gaming employee applications and making recommendations relating to the issuance of permits and registrations under the jurisdiction of the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB or Board)

    + Reviewing Casino Compliance Reports and other PGCB Bureau/Office referrals and making recommendations relating to enforcement actions relating to gaming and non-gaming employees under the jurisdiction of the PGCB

    + Serving as the prosecutor in various non-criminal proceedings, pursuant to the Pennsylvania Race Horse Development and Gaming Act

    + Presenting employee enforcement matters to the Board at public meetings

    Work Schedule and Additional Information:

    + Full-time employment

    + Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

    + Occasional travel may be required.

    + Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework). In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

    + Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $70,054.00 (before taxes).

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

    + Graduation from an accredited school of law and certificate of admission to the Bar of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania.

    Additional Requirements:

    + You must be able to perform essential job functions.

    Legal Requirements:

    + Employment is contingent upon the completion of a Personal History Questionnaire with a thorough background investigation, including drug screening and the subsequent review and approval by the Board.
