    About the role

     

    Seeking a highly skilled and experienced **Test Automation Lead/Architect** to establish and lead a modern automation practice using **Playwright/ Cypress** . This role involves migrating existing Selenium-based test suites, implementing best practices, setting up CI/CD integration, and defining measurable quality metrics. Candidate should have hands-on experience with modern automation frameworks and a strategic mindset to drive quality engineering initiatives and Non functional testing experience (Performance and Accessibility Testing).

    In this role, you will:

    + Design and implement a robust automation framework using Playwright or Cypress.

    + Develop and execute a phased migration plan to Playwright/Cypress.

    + Set up automated test execution triggers and reporting dashboards.

    + Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).

    + Experience in Non-Functional testing (Performance & Accessibility Testing).

    + Define and track key automation metrics.

    + Generate actionable insights and reports for stakeholders.

    + Work closely with QA, development, and DevOps teams to align automation strategy with product goals.

    + Conduct workshops, training sessions, and create documentation to onboard teams to the new framework.

Based on this role’s business requirements, **this is a hybrid position requiring 3 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Windsor, CT.** Regardless of your working arrangement, we are here to support a healthy work-life balance though our various wellbeing programs.

    What you need to have to be considered:

    + Overall 10-15 years of experience in Software Testing Quality Engineering or Test Architecture roles with a strong focus on automation.

    + Should have 8+ years in Test Automation and 2+ years in Test lead/Architect roles.

    + Must have 2+ years of strong hands-on experience with web automation frameworks like Playwright or Cypress automation.

    + Must have hands-on coding experience in JavaScript or TypeScript programming language.

    + Proficiency in various test automation tools like Selenium, TestNG, Rest Assured, JMeter, Postman.

    + Strong experience in UI and API automation testing.

    + Experience with Performance & Accessibility Testing.

    + Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).

    + Experience with Test Management & Reporting tools like JIRA, Zephyr, TestRail, qTest,

    These will help you stand out

    + Insurance Domain Knowledge.

    + Experience/Knowledge on GenAI tools in testing.

    Salary and Other Compensation:

    The annual salary for this position is between USD 95,000 – 108,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

     

    This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
