Minimum Experience 0 Summary The Federal Reserve Board (Board) provides students opportunities for career success. The Board’s Internship program is designed to provide valuable work experience for graduate students considering careers including, but not limited to, economics, finance and accounting, information systems, and data analysis. The Board believes that by combining academic endeavors with project-related work experience, qualified and capable college students can gain the practical knowledge need in a competitive global job market. Internships are paid positions with salaries commensurate with credit hours; internships may be in-person, remote or hybrid, depending on the needs of the team. Employment in the Board’s internship program is granted to U.S. citizens. Applicants must be currently enrolled in a graduate degree program at an accredited university and returning to continue studies after the internship. Interns receive a syllabus or research project plan outlining their projects and goals for the internship. Interns are assigned a supervisor or mentor to guide them through their internship, and regular check-in meetings with their manager to manage performance expectations and assist with learning goals. Interns have access to a wide range of training programs and events for professional development purposes. Position Requirements About the Team The Workforce and Workplace Management (WWM) team in the Division of Supervision and Regulation aligns workforce development strategies and talent management programs with the strategic plans and priorities of the Division and Federal Reserve Board. The team serves as consultants to senior leaders regarding matters related to talent management, workforce planning strategies and implementation plans for section specific, Division, and Federal Reserve System initiatives. About the Role The WWM team is seeking a year-round graduate student intern to help support and manage several projects, research and work related to workforce analytics in the Division of Supervision & Regulation. This is a great opportunity for a graduate student with an academic focus in I/O Psychology, Organizational Sciences or Business Administration. Working closely with section staff and management, the intern will support a range of projects that integrate analytical insight with generalist HR functions and contribute to ongoing initiatives that enhance data-driven decision making, the employee experience, and organizational performance and effectiveness. Key responsibilities include: • Assisting with data extraction, cleaning, and preparation of HR data from multiple data sources. • Supporting the development and maintenance of data visualizations in Tableau and other reporting tools. • Conducting research, preparing reports and analyzing HR data to identify trends, inform insights and develop actionable recommendations • Providing operational and administrative support across key talent management programs including recruitment and onboarding, rewards and recognition, internship programming and performance management. • Assisting with data entry and transaction processing in Workday, as well as the organization and maintenance of WWM SharePoint sites and libraries. • Drafting internal communications and contributing to the research and evaluation of best practices in HR program design and delivery. • Collaborating with HR and business stakeholders to identify opportunities to leverage workforce data to improve organizational effectiveness. • Participating in special projects and assisting with the implementation of project recommendations as assigned. Over the course of the internship, the selected candidate will gain practical experience in HR analytics, program management and workplace culture initiatives while developing a strong foundation in both data-driven and operational aspects of human resources. Anticipated Work Hours: 15-20 hours during school semester, 20-40 hours per week during breaks (expected for summer break is 40 hours/week) Anticipated Work Environment: This internship must be completed in-person in Washington, DC. Anticipated Start Date: January 2026 Education Requirements: • Has an undergraduate degree in any of the following areas: psychology, business administration, mathematics, statistics, or computer science. • Candidate should be a first-year graduate student, or entering their first year, graduating May 2027 or later , pursuing a graduate degree in Industrial Organizational Psychology, Human Resource Management, or Business Analytics/Applied Data Analytics Skills/Knowledge Required: • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and present data effectively. • Experience with Tableau and SQL preferred; familiarity with data visualization and reporting best practices a plus. • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and overall competence in Microsoft Office Suite. • Interest in people analytics and workforce insights is strongly preferred, though not required. • Coursework or experience in data analysis methods such as regression analysis, general linear models, data mining or experimental design preferred. • Familiarity with HR systems such as Workday and collaboration platforms such as SharePoint preferred. • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to draft clear reports, summaries and stakeholder communications. • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain attention to detail and work both independently and collaboratively in a professional environment.
