    Overview

     

    This position will be located on our Mountain View, CA campus and will be a hybrid role. As such, we are seeking someone living within a commutable distance of Mountain View OR someone open to relocation.

     

    Intuit's Corporate Development team works on highly visible, direction-setting strategy and acquisition initiatives at the corporate level and across all of Intuit’s businesses. The team is focused on identifying, evaluating, and executing on opportunities to drive inorganic growth and has been highly acquisitive in recent years, with a $20B+ deal portfolio that includes the acquisitions of Mailchimp ( $12B deal closed in 2021) and Credit Karma ( $8B deal closed in 2020) in addition to recent acquisitions of GoCo, Deserve and many others. We collaborate closely with the senior executive team to define and execute both the company’s overall inorganic strategy as well as strategies for specific business lines. Our team gets significant exposure to senior leaders across the company, a high degree of responsibility and career progression, and the opportunity to drive sustained impact on projects that are critical to Intuit’s future.

     

    Reporting to the SVP - Corporate Development, this leader will join our team as a Director of Corporate Development (M&A Integration / Acceleration). In this role, you will lead the M&A Integration / Acceleration team and be instrumental in defining and overseeing strategic acquisitions from end-to-end, including establishing the integration strategy, leading integration planning and execution, and partnering closely with the deal, business, and functional leaders to drive value realization from M&A** **_._

    Responsibilities

    As Director of Corporate Development (M&A Integration / Acceleration), this individual will be responsible for leading, planning, and managing the integration of Intuit’s acquisitions to achieve the desired business value and objectives expected from the deal.

    Lead and manage the end-to-end integration process, including:

    + Define and champion the overall integration strategy (pre-deal) to achieve business objectives toward deal value realization.

    + Oversee and drive detailed integration planning with milestones, timelines, resources, and costs required to achieve deal-specific value and synergies.

    + Manage the overall execution with the team of the integration plan, from Day 1 onboarding to the completion of all go-to-market and functional integration.

    + Actively identify, assess, and proactively manage integration risks and drive effective resolution of complex, cross-functional integration issues and escalations.

    + Define and establish deal success metrics and scorecards (in partnership with People/Finance/Deal team) to track and report on integration and value realization performance.

    Strategic Collaboration & Leadership:

    + Work collaboratively with the Corporate Development team throughout the M&A process, including participating in pre-deal target evaluation, due diligence, negotiation of deal terms, and the deal approval process.

    + Serve as a core member of the deal team to drive critical deal-related decisions and milestones and provide strategic M&A integration support to the business case development, due diligence, and other transactional matters.

    + Lead and develop a team of CS&D Integration Principals within Intuit’s learning organization culture.

    + Be a partner to and trusted advisor for the business units and functional teams by applying thought leadership, best practices, integration experience, and knowledge of Intuit and its functional areas.

    + Oversee customer insights projects to inform on inorganic strategy and specific targets being evaluated. Deliver key research learnings and insights to senior leadership.

    + Lead a virtual cross-functional integration project team consisting of operational experts, business unit and functional representatives, and newly acquired employees within a complex, matrix corporate environment.

    + Identify operational and integration issues pre- and post- acquisition, develop solutions, and drive decision making and escalation across multiple stakeholders.

    M&A Capability and Performance Excellence:

    + Build out and continuously improve Intuit’s M&A integration capabilities by identifying and developing process improvements, best practices, tools, and templates which capture learnings, increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the team, and improve the quality of the integration effort and business outcomes.

    + Conduct and institutionalize post-mortem processes to capture end-to-end deal learnings and best practices. Prepare comprehensive retrospectives for select acquisitions.

    + Identify success metrics for each acquisition pre-deal, and measure and report acquisition performance against those metrics on a quarterly basis.

    + Prepare and present regular M&A integration status updates, along with business unit leaders, to CEO Staff team members and Intuit’s Board of Directors.

    + Stay abreast of Intuit’s priorities and exemplify culture to effectively support acquired companies through the integration.

    + Manage strategic and growth initiatives on an as-needed basis outside of M&A integration.

    Qualifications

    Ideal candidates will exhibit a broad set of skills including a keen sense of strategic thinking and rigorous analytics, solid written and verbal communications ability, courage with decisiveness to act, influencing skills, inspirational leadership, and understanding stakeholder needs. It is essential that the individual selected for this position be able to quickly establish rapport, credibility, trust, and respect throughout the organization at all levels, and be viewed as a team player.

    Basic Requirements:

    + 10-15+ years of M&A integration/consulting/operational experience with at least 7 years of direct M&A integration experience leading the integration function.

    + Track record of success integrating people and business processes is essential.

    + Must have experience designing and implementing acquisition integration processes for large companies with multiple acquisitions per year.

    + Must be able to blend strategic advisory with strong process and analytical skills.

    + Ability to be an influential business partner who can lead through influence and garner support from cross-functional executives to ensure effective and efficient integration.

    + Exceptional project management, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills necessary for driving complex, global initiatives.

    + Excellent written and verbal communication skills required, including superior presentation and executive reporting skills.

    + Background working at technology companies preferred.

    + Proficiency in MS Office and/or Google Suite; Smartsheets experience a plus.

    + An MBA or equivalent experience is preferred.

    + Willingness to travel (as needed).
