The Quality Control Supervisor plays a key leadership role in maintaining these standards, ensuring that each product shipped from our facility exceeds customer and regulatory expectations.
Position Overview
The Quality Control Supervisor is responsible for ensuring all fasteners and related components produced by Level 1 Fasteners meet stringent quality, safety, and regulatory standards. This role oversees all inspection, documentation, and quality-assurance functions to maintain compliance with ISO-9001 certifications, as well as customer and government specifications.
Key Responsibilities
+ Supervise day-to-day operations of the Quality Control department, including inspection personnel and documentation staff.
+ Oversee dimensional inspection, material verification, and process audits on incoming, in-process, and finished products.
+ Interpret and apply technical specifications, drawings, and standards (MIL-STD, NAS, ASTM, SAE, etc.).
+ Maintain calibration programs for all gauges, measurement tools, and inspection equipment.
+ Lead internal and external audits; ensure readiness for ISO-9001 surveillance and customer audits.
+ Generate and maintain quality records, Certificates of Conformance (CofCs), First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs), and non-conformance reports (NCRs).
+ Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on defect reduction and process capability enhancement.
+ Serve as a key liaison between production, engineering, and customers on all quality matters.
+ Train and mentor QC staff in inspection techniques, documentation control, and proper use of metrology equipment.
+ Investigate root causes of quality issues and implement effective corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
Qualifications
+ Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Engineering, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent experience).
+ 3–5 years of quality-control experience in a precision machining or fastener manufacturing environment.
+ Working knowledge of ISO-9001 quality systems.
+ Strong understanding of GD&T, blueprint interpretation, and metrology.
+ Experience with hardness testing, thread gauges, tensile testing, and plating verification.
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office, ERP and quality software.
+ Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
+ Background in defense or aerospace manufacturing environments (e.g., DLA, NAVSEA, or OEM suppliers).
+ Familiarity with CMMC, ITAR, and DFARS compliance requirements.
+ Experience performing FAIR, and customer-driven inspection documentation.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 30 lbs. in a shop environment. Regular use of precision measuring tools and visual inspection equipment.
