Role Summary
INTECON is seeking a highly skilled Space Operations Instructor & Curriculum Developer to support the Missile Warning and Tracking Operations Support II program. In this role, you will develop advanced curriculum and deliver instruction for space-based and ground missile warning systems, ensuring training programs remain current, relevant, and aligned with Mission Delta 4 operational requirements. Your efforts will enable the U.S. Space Force to maintain space superiority and mission readiness by producing well-trained crews and instructors prepared for missile warning and tracking operations.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
+ Deliver comprehensive classroom and simulator-based instruction for Qualification Training (QT), Difference Training (DT), and Combat Training (CT) courses across systems such as SBIRS, OBAC, JTAGS, S2E2, and UEWR.
+ Provide specialized instructor training, including Instructor Qualification Course (IQC), Simulator Instructor Course (SIC), and Instructional Systems Development (ISD) methodologies for fellow trainers.
+ Develop and maintain training curriculum, lesson plans, interactive courseware, knowledge/performance tests, and realistic training scenarios in accordance with U.S. Space Force standards.
+ Continuously review and update instructional materials at least annually or whenever changes occur (e.g. new procedures or simulator software updates) to keep training content up-to-date.
+ Assist in defining and validating training simulator requirements, identifying deficiencies and improvements to enhance the realism and effectiveness of training devices.
+ Maintain expert familiarity with USSF training regulations, evaluation documentation, and the Ready Spacecrew Program standards to ensure all training activities meet official guidelines.
+ Support the development and update of Plans of Instruction (POIs), Training and Evaluation Performance Standards (TEPS), Master Task Lists (MTLs), and other training documentation critical to Mission Delta 4.
+ Coordinate closely with Mission Delta 4 leadership to align training schedules and content with operational cycles and readiness needs, ensuring crew training keeps pace with mission demands.
+ Provide administrative support for training simulators and participate in verification/validation events, ensuring simulators accurately reflect operational environments.
+ Document all training sessions and results, maintain meticulous student training records, and assist in preparing required training reports for leadership review.
Required Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in Education, Instructional Technology, or a related field – or equivalent experience.
+ 3+ years of hands-on experience in curriculum development and instruction, ideally for technical or military training programs.
+ 3+ years of experience with relevant missile warning/space operations weapon systems and crew positions (e.g. SBIRS, OBAC, JTAGS, S2E2, UEWR), providing firsthand understanding of the operational context.
+ Demonstrated experience with Instructional Systems Design (ISD) principles and methodologies for developing effective training programs.
+ Experience utilizing the Standard Space Trainer (SST) or similar high-fidelity simulators as an instructor to replicate mission scenarios.
+ Familiarity with U.S. Space Force training and evaluation regulations, and ability to navigate official training documentation and record-keeping requirements.
+ Active TS/SCI clearance (must be a U.S. citizen eligible for Top Secret/SCI).
Preferred Qualifications
+ Master's degree in Instructional Design, Space Studies, or a related discipline.
+ Completion of a DoD/USSF Instructor or Evaluator certification program (e.g., formal USSF instructor course).
+ Direct experience with Mission Delta 4 systems and operational training cycles (e.g., prior service as a space operations crew member or trainer within MD4).
+ Familiarity with integrating intelligence briefings or threat scenarios into training (experience with Combat Training integration of intel products).
