    Position Overview

    The Pipelayer is responsible for installing sanitary sewer, storm and water systems by accurately aligning, positioning, and connecting pipe structures according to project specifications.

    Responsibilities:

    + Install sanitary sewer, storm and water systems.

    + Cut pipes to specified lengths according to project requirements.

    + Assist with aligning pipes during pipeline construction.

    + Verify slopes and grades using levels, lasers, or other measuring equipment.

    + Connect pipe sections and seal joints using welding equipment, cement, or approved adhesives.

    + Tap and drill holes in pipes to install auxiliary lines or devices.

    + Cover pipes with soil or other approved materials.

    + Grade and level trench bases using tamping machines and hand tools.

    + Train crew members in proper pipe-laying techniques.

    + Perform other general labor and construction-related duties as required.

    Qualifications:

    + Ability to read and follow building plans, blueprints, and supervisory instructions; lay out work accurately; and perform tasks efficiently using the appropriate tools and materials.

    + Must be physically capable of performing manual labor in various environments and conditions, including heavy lifting (over 50 lbs.).

    + Ability to understand and follow detailed instructions with consistency and accuracy.

    + Strong interpersonal competencies, including a drive for results, timely follow-through, effective verbal communication, organization, planning, dependability, trust, respect, and cooperation.

    + Must provide and maintain all required hand tools necessary to perform assigned tasks.

    + Demonstrates strong housekeeping practices and maintains a clean, orderly work area.
