NEW Mechanical engineer opportunity at top defense company
Description
Key Responsibilities:
-Design and develop mechanical components and systems for test environments supporting missile defense products.
-Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical designs with electrical, software, and systems engineering disciplines.
Create detailed documentation including CAD models, drawings, and specifications for test equipment.
-Support all phases of the engineering lifecycle, including concept development, design verification, production, and sustainment.
-Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues in lab, field, and production environments.
-Ensure compliance with engineering standards, safety protocols, and quality requirements.
-Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
-Present technical findings and project updates to stakeholders and leadership.
What We’re Looking For:
-Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
-Proven experience in mechanical design and integration, preferably in aerospace or defense.
-Proficiency in CAD tools (e.g., Creo, SolidWorks) and engineering documentation.
-Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in a team.
-Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
-Active Secret Clearance

Qualifications We Value: Design experience with mechanical and electronic packaging Experience with Configuration Management processes, application, and tools (e.g., Windchill / cPDM) Experience with cable design, specifically CREO Schematic
Must Have: Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum five (5) years of work experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of work experience Minimum of five (5) years of technical / engineering experience in mechanical design and/or production support Minimum of three (3) years experience with CAD solid modeling tools and analysis tools with an emphasis on ProE / CREO Parametric Experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerance analysis Experience creating mechanical drawing packages The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

This is a Contract position based out of Billerica, MA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $65.00/hr.
