    Job Summary and Responsibilities

     

    Responsible for reviewing menus and preparing meals according to production sheets using proper sanitation techniques and maintaining proper portion control and leftover utilization. Demonstrates leadership skill.

     

    + Determines type and quantities of meats, vegetables, soups etc. to prepare.

    + Plans cooking schedules to ensure that all food will be ready at specified times.

    + Measures and mixes ingredients according to recipes, using a variety of kitchen utensils and equipment.

    + Bakes, roasts, broils and steams meats, fish and other foods.

    + Carves portions of meat, fish and other foods according to proper procedure and portion control.

    + Tests food being prepared to ensure proper taste, texture, temperature and appearance.

     

    This is a part time position. The right candidate must have flexible availability

    Job Requirements

    Minimum

     

    High School Diploma, GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.

     

    ANSI ServeSafe Manager Certification - Required within 30 days of hire

     

    State fingerprint card [saved with Huger Mercy Living Center director]

     

    Food Handlers Permit

     

    Preferred

     

    Four (4) years experience in food service with a minimum of two (2) years institutional cooking experience

    Pay Range

    $20.91 - $29.54 /hour
