What You’ll Be Doing
In this role, you will work directly with clinical staff across the hospital to ensure that medical equipment is safe, reliable, and ready when it is needed most. Your day may include testing and calibrating equipment, troubleshooting complex issues, evaluating new devices, or supporting staff with proper use and functionality. Every task supports patient care, so quality and attention to detail truly matter.
You will be hands-on, using technical tools, diagnostic equipment, and your own critical thinking to keep medical equipment in top working condition. You will also work closely with a tight-knit team of experienced technicians who are collaborative, approachable, and ready to share knowledge as you continue to grow in this field.

Qualifications
+ Minimum of one (1) of the below qualifications required:
+ Associates degree in biomedical equipment or electronics and five (5) years experience.
+ Equivalent and measurable military training in the biomedical field. Manufacturing training may be considered.
+ Minimum of seven (7) years experience in Biomedical Engineering or equivalent field required.
+ Possess knowledge and understanding of safety regulations and compliance (CMMS, NFPA99, etc.) required. Demonstrated skill with various technical test and calibration equipment and manufacturer database programs (e.g. DVM, Oscilloscope, hand tools, or similar devices and programs, etc.) required.
+ CBET Certification preferred.
+ Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of human anatomy and physiology preferred.
+ Previous experience interpreting mechanical/electrical schematics. Possess basic knowledge of network theory.
+ Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.
Job Specific Duties
+ Responsible for repairs, preventative maintenance schedules, cleanings, calls for special servicing, evaluating service contracts, and ensuring equipment is available for safe operation.
+ Efficiently employs the use of various test and/or calibration equipment per department procedure and protocol.
+ Supports the introduction of new medical equipment by establishing, adjusting, calibrating, and testing performance prior to clinical use.
+ Maintains records on medical equipment, and prepares and organizes reports as necessary and/or requested.
+ Assists department leadership in researching and obtaining proper medical equipment to meet the needs of the department and overall goals of Logan Health.
+ In collaboration with leadership, may represent the department in various committees and meetings as requested.
+ Serves as subject matter expert in regards to equipment. Professionally takes initiative, exercises independent judgement and troubleshoots equipment without direct supervision.
+ Educates staff regarding the proper use and support of medical equipment. Notifies appropriate personnel of recent concerns, repairs, or recalls that might negatively affect the performance of the medical equipment.
+ Assists, oversees, and monitors third party repairs per department procedure and protocol.
+ Corresponds with manufacturer support/service centers to troubleshoot and identify and/or procure replacement components.
+ Identifies and establishes protocols for safeguarding PHI on applicable (networked, wireless, etc.) equipment.

Shift:
Day Shift - 8 Hours (United States of America)
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, day shifts, Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm
This position will participate in On Call Rotation 1x per month. Call is one week, Monday-Monday 14.5 Hours per day 4:30pm-7:00am and 24 hours for Saturday and Sunday.
Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
