The Clinical Nutrition Manager plans, schedules, coordinates, and supervises the work operations of the clinical nutrition staff. Primary responsibilities include assigning work to and supervising clinical dietitians and dietetic technicians, developing standards, and monitoring of clinical dietetics performance for safety and efficacy and evidence-based practice, establishing a framework to collect and publish clinical outcomes research, reviewing and updating policies and procedures, implementing and maintaining cost control procedures, providing input into the budgeting process and being held accountable for meeting budget targets, recruiting, hiring and orienting staff, interacting with hospital management and professional staff, and maintaining professional competency and skills required for professional practice.

+ Responsible to provide staff feedback on performance, including on-time appraisals and coaching.
+ Responsible to deal with conflicts in a proactive manner and to reach resolution in a timely manner.
Building Relationships
+ Forms positive relationships with staff, peers, and senior leadership to support the mission, vision, values, and performance standards of the organization.
+ Actively engages staff with updates and news as well as involving staff in decisions and work teams. Provides feedback and recognition when appropriate.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
+ Ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined above.
+ Demonstrated leadership skills in planning and directing employees, and processes, in order to effectively monitor and develop subordinates, to ensure the smooth operation of the department.
+ Demonstrated knowledge of assigned department's area of specialization in order to analyze, plan, and draw conclusions for recommendations to superiors.
+ Demonstrated knowledge and application of medical nutrition therapy, including the nutrition care process.
+ Demonstrated competence with nutrient analysis, word processing, and spreadsheet software.
+ Ability to communicate effectively in written, verbal and electronic formats with patients, staff, physicians, nurses, and administrators.
+ Ability to plan, organize, direct, and evaluate the work of others.
+ Ability to organize tasks and work independently.
+ Demonstrated leadership and administrative experience.
+ Proven ability to meet and maintain budgeting goals.
Qualifications
Qualifications** **Required
+ Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Nutrition, Foodservice Management, or related area, or the equivalency.
+ Completion of a didactic program in dietetics and supervised practice program approved by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education (CADE) of the American Dietetic Association.
+ Four years of experience as a clinical dietician.
+ Two years of supervisory experience.
Licenses Required
+ Registered Dietitian with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
+ Current License to practice as a Certified Dietitian in the State of Utah.

Qualifications (Preferred)
Preferred
+ Master's Degree in Clinical Nutrition, Foodservice Management, or a related area.
+ EPIC Experience.
+ CBORD Experience.
