    Job Description

    Responsibilities

    + Documenting functional requirements and translating into detail design documents.

    + Participating in and supporting proposal and project preparation, work hours required and product definition for material estimates.

    + Preparing models, rough layouts, detailed drawings and specifications.

    + Assisting engineers in the design, development of industrial plant design and associated equipment

    + Collaborate on deliverables and schedules across disciplines with local and remote teams

    + Support review of models and drawings, associated development process, and fabrication of product as required

    + Accurately gauges the impact and cost of errors, omissions, and oversights.

    + Processes limited amounts of detailed information with good accuracy.

    + Learns from mistakes and applies lessons learned.

    + Develops and uses checklists to ensure that information goes out error-free.

     

    Managing Multiple Priorities: Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple

     

    concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time

     

    allocation.

     

    + Level Extensive Experience:

    + Clarifies and handles multiple concurrent and diverse activities.

    + Shifts focus among several efforts as required by changing priorities.

    + Addresses potential conflicts that impact current delivery commitments.

    + Works with or leads others to re-prioritize work and reschedule commitments as necessary.

    + Responds to shifting priorities while maintaining progress of regularly scheduled work.

    Computer-Aided Design & Engineering: Knowledge of tools and techniques of specialized graphics programs; ability

     

    to produce, analyze, simulate and test product design drafts.

    Level Extensive Experience:

    + Coaches others on orthographic, isometric and axonometric projections.

    + Presents complex products and systems graphically.

    + Performs manipulations on design objects, such as changing projections and managing drawing layers.

    + Directs the matrix computations performed to transform objects in coordinate space.

    + Consults on benefits and drawbacks of top-down design vs. bottom-up design.

    + Compares and contrasts uses of bird's-eye views and worm's-eye views.

     

    Product Design - MFG: Knowledge of processes, approaches, tools and techniques of product design; ability to

     

    convert customer and market requirements into product design.

    Level Working Knowledge:

    + Participates in the conception process of a manufacturing product vision.

    + Collects and analyzes customer and market requirements, and generates reports.

    + Utilizes design methods to implement the construction of a new design model.

    + Uses automated tools to design or modify the design of a product.

    + Assists in the testing and refinement of a new product design

     

    Product Design and Development: Knowledge of product features; ability to design, build, and develop a new

     

    product, technology, or service from concept through to production.

    Level Working Knowledge:

    + Builds three-dimensional models with basic materials.

    + Communicates with professionals to understand various requirements of product design.

    + Tests and evaluates alternative means of production being considered for use.

    + Uses automated tools to design or modify the design of a product.

    + Assists in building a complex prototype of product.

    Qualifications:

    +Comprehensive knowledge of CAD software, including Autodesk software suite

    +Familiarity with O&G facility and equipment drawings

    +Proficient in 3D model arrangement of complex systems

    +Understanding of "Design for Manufacturability" and Engineering principals behind plant design

    +Strong communication and teamwork skills

    +Design certificate or associate degree

    Desired:

    +Bachelors degree

    +10-15 years industry experience in Design

    +3D Modeling or Facilities Design training

     

    This position requires working onsite five days a week.
