Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a GIS professional to support enterprise-level geospatial systems for a mission-critical federal client. This role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining robust GIS environments that enable secure, scalable, and high-performing solutions. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in Esri technologies, system administration, and database management, along with a strong understanding of authentication, networking, and cloud operations.

As part of this team, you will work on both development and production environments, ensuring seamless integration of GIS services with enterprise infrastructure. You’ll collaborate with technical stakeholders to optimize workflows, enhance system reliability, and deliver innovative geospatial solutions that meet complex operational needs. The selected candidate will work onsite at agency headquarters, collaborating directly with government in support of law enforcement and intelligence operations.

Day to Day:

• Design and implement enterprise GIS systems to meet client requirements and operational needs.

• Administer and maintain ArcGIS Enterprise environments, including Portal for ArcGIS and associated components.

• Manage system configurations across development (DEV) and production (PROD) environments for stability and performance.

• Monitor and troubleshoot GIS services, databases, and integrations to ensure high availability and security.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to optimize workflows, deploy updates, and support geospatial solutions.

• Develop scripts and automation (primarily in Python; PowerShell or other languages as needed) to streamline system tasks.

• Ensure compliance with security protocols, authentication standards, and cloud-based system operations.

Skills and Requirements

Job Requirements:

• Active DoD Top Secret Clearance (ICE or DHS adjudication preferred)

• ESRI/ArcGIS expertise with 3–5 years in system administration or development

• Operating Systems: Windows and/or Linux administration

• Experience with at least one RDBMS (SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL) and SQL query writing

• Scripting: Python required; PowerShell, JavaScript, or C# a plus

• One of the following professional certifications: GIS Professional Certificate (GISP); ESRI technical certifications: ArcGIS Spatial Analysis, ArcGIS Desktop Professional/Associate, ArcGIS Enterprise Administration, ArcGIS Developer Associate

• BA in Computer Science, Mathematics, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or STEM related field • Authentication Knowledge: SAML, Web Tier, OIDC

• Cloud Operations: Familiarity with cloud-based SysOps

• Bachelor’s degree preferred

• Coding expereince with Arcpy in ArcGIS
