    Job Description

    A client is looking for a Data Center Technician, who will be the primary resolver for your support team, skilled at troubleshooting and resolving most complex hardware infrastructure issues. You create and maintain documentation on technologies you support and are able to effectively passdown knowledge of these technologies to junior staff. You have basic to intermediate system administration skills and, where applicable, are able to take on remote system administration tasks working in a virtual team. You have the ability to automate tasks with scripts when necessary. You work autonomously to resolve most support issues. You are able to execute small projects on your own, and work with your manager in planning and executing larger local projects. You act as the initial escalation point for junior technicians. You understand all aspects of the equipment you support. You know how to innovate and make decisions on his/her own, but also know how to take direction when it is given, paying attention to all details involved.

     

    Key KPIs

     

    -Ticket resolutions, lower Dwell time

     

    -Performing server rack installations, hardware break-fix on various components, troubleshooting network issues, and responding to operational incidents that impact service availability, escalating to senior technicians and management as needed/required

    Compensation:

    $25/hour to $32/hour

     

    Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

     

    Employees in this role will enjoy a comprehensive benefits package starting on day one of employment, including options for medical, dental, and vision insurance. Eligibility to enroll in the 401(k) retirement plan begins after 90 days of employment.     Skills and Requirements

    Basic qualifications

    -1+ years of relevant experience in data center operations, IT support, or a similar technical field

     

    -1+ years of troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve undefined technical problems

     

    -Willingness to participate in a primary responder rotation and support 24/7 data center operations Preferred qualifications

    -Experience working in a Data Center environment

    -Understanding of network design, protocols, troubleshooting, and in-depth hardware knowledge (e.g., PCIe)

     

    -Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system.

    Confirm degree/ certifications if applicable:

    -An Associate’s degree, technical certification, or equivalent professional or military experience in a relevant field (e.g., computer science, networking engineering, etc.)

    -A+ Certification, Networking Degree or Certification:

    -Bachelor’s (preferred, but not required) server plus or a plus- level of understanding
