**UW Medicine Primary Care Clinics** has an outstanding opportunity to hire a full time **HOSPITAL SECURITY SERGEANT** . This position will float between three clinic locations: Kent/Des Moines, Federal Way, and Ballard.
Department Description:
The Hospital Security Sergeant at UW Medicine Primary Care and Population Health clinics help supervise the clinics Security Services team to ensure a safe, secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors in a way that promotes the healing and teaching mission of UW Medicine. Becoming a member of the Public Safety Services team is an outstanding opportunity to help cultivate the relationship between security and the community. The team has a crucial role in maintaining a positive, caregiving and welcoming environment at our primary & urgent care clinics in a manner that is consistent with UW Medicine Patients Are First Service Culture Guidelines. Security Sergeant provide assistance and effective problem resolution for patients, staff, and visitors in our clinics. Responsibilities to Include:
+ Conduct training, assign and schedule work, act upon leave requests, conduct annual performance evaluations, and recommend disciplinary action;
+ Establish and maintain effective relations with medical professionals, law enforcement, firefighters, and senior management; serve as a liaison with first responders with matters related to public safety and security;
+ Participate in incident command and conducting initial follow up investigations, complaint resolution, service recovery, and the training of new Officers;
+ Participate in safety huddles, Environment of Care meetings and incident debriefs;
+ Write reports covering activity of shift assigned; review and correct reports of subordinate officers;
+ Evaluate and maintain all security site equipment assigned to the security team; determine and recommend appropriate replacement or maintenance requirements;
+ Oversee physical security components of the clinics such as CCTV monitoring and review; access control
+ Perform work of a UWM PCPH Security Officer
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
+ High School graduation or equivalent
+ Possession of a valid driver's license
+ No previous felony convictions
+ Two years of full-time college in police science or allied field
OR
+ Two years of police or campus security experience.
OR
Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.
Compensation, Benefits and Position Details
Pay Range Minimum:
$32.78 hourly
Pay Range Maximum:
$47.63 hourly
