About the Base Building Organizer Position
Full-time
Non-exempt

Pay:$21.87 – $24.15/hour
Schedule:Full-Time, On-Site
As part of our Policy & Campaigns Team (aka the Organizing team), the Base Building Organizer will connect with front-line community members and help build a movement that is inclusive, powerful, and lasting. You’ll build deep relationships, lead outreach and recruitment, and support members in taking meaningful action through campaigns that make a real impact in our neighborhoods.
What You’ll Do
+ Build and strengthen relationships with community members and help them grow into leadership roles.
+ Conduct door-to-door outreach, one-on-one meetings, and community events to expand our base.
+ Collaborate with member leaders to shape and carry out local, state, and national housing justice campaigns.
+ Facilitate trainings and political education sessions that empower members to organize effectively.
+ Track engagement and progress using Salesforce and other organizing tools.
+ Support organizational events, actions, and campaigns that move our mission forward.
Who We’re Looking For
+ Passion for social, racial, economic, food and housing justice.
+ Experience in community organizing, outreach, or leadership development (2+ years preferred).
+ Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
+ Comfort working in diverse communities and across lines of difference.
+ Willingness to work some evenings and weekends.
+ Ability to travel locally and occasionally regionally or nationally.
+ Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple and changing priorities.
+ Familiar with data and systems (like Microsoft Office and Salesforce) to collaborate and track and evaluate impact.
+ Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and local residency (Buffalo area) required.
+ Flexible to work evenings or weekends; Spanish language skills a plus.
This position is part of the PUSH Buffalo Staff Union.
