ProAmpac is a leading flexible packaging manufacturer, and we’re looking for a detail-oriented Plate Mounter to join our team on 2nd shift (2:00–10:00 PM or 3:00–11:00 PM, some flexibility available).
In this role, you’ll help prepare printing cylinders and plates that are essential for our flexographic printing process. If you enjoy hands-on work, problem-solving, and being part of a team that takes pride in high-quality production, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
What You’ll Do
+ Prepare and mount printing plates onto cylinders for press runs
+ Follow schedules and mounting specifications to ensure accuracy
+ Read and use a tape measure to precise measurements
+ Keep plate inventory organized and up to date
+ Handle and install cylinders correctly
+ Apply sticky back materials smoothly and accurately
+ Trim, mark, and align plates using proofs and microdots
+ Check proofs and plates for quality and accuracy
+ Measure materials using a micrometer to ensure proper thickness
+ Assist with plate making as needed
+ Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
+ Follow and promote all safety policies
Experience
+ 2–4 years as a Plate Mounter (flexographic printing experience preferred)
+ Education: High school diploma or GED
+ **Skills:**
+ Ability to read and follow written instructions
+ Strong math skills (fractions, decimals, measurements)
+ Attention to detail and quality
+ Comfortable using tools like tape measures and micrometers
+ Basic computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, shop floor systems)
Requirements
+ 2-4 years experience as a plate mounter in related field (flexographic printing).
+ High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
+ Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
+ Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
+ Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
+ Knowledge of Axapta, Microsoft Outlook internet software and Shop Floor Manufacturing software.
Physical Requirements
+ Ability to lift/move 25–50 lbs as needed
+ Regularly standing, moving, or positioning self to complete tasks
+ Occasional use of ladders or steps
+ Close vision for detailed work
