    Summary:

    The Regional Pharmacy Manager will have leadership and oversight of the medication use process in the Baystate Health Northern Region (BFMC), and Baystate Health Western Region (BNH). The incumbent will be responsible for the day to day operation of the pharmacy department and any related regional inpatient and outpatient programs including. The leader will collaborate with local and regional leadership to instill a culture of safety, accountability and have a results-oriented approach to leadership of the team. Additionally, the leader will engage medical, patient care, and leadership at the regional level to sustain operations and implement the system pharmacy strategy. The incumbent will plan and lead daily operations in collaboration with system-pharmacy leaders to align with the strategic compass points for BH and support integration and standardization across the pharmacy enterprise. The Regional Pharmacy Manager will have direct leadership and oversight of the pharmacy team inclusive of Pharmacists, Technicians and other team members as appropriate. The incumbent will be an excellent communicator, ensuring team members are engaged and involved in the daily functions of the department. The Regional Manager will also oversee and provide direction to relevant Committees.

     

    Other areas of focus will include team member competency assessment, process review, departmental policy and procedure review, appropriate training to implement new processes and other critical human resource activities. The Regional Pharmacy Manager will also be a member of the team maintaining an appropriate level of staffing to contribute to, understand and improve the operation as needed. The Regional Pharmacy Manager performs other leadership and administrative duties as assigned including special projects, goal development assessment of regulatory compliance, and financial planning in support of the compass points and BH mission.

     

    **Job Responsibilities** :

    **1** ) Implementation of the system medication use strategy leveraging pharmacy expertise to improve safety, quality, patient experience and value for BFMC. Promotes effective communication, collaboration, and teamwork internal and external to the department. Informs the overall system pharmacy strategy for BH.

     

    2) Leadership of the local pharmacy operations and processes. Areas of responsibility include human resource utilization, medication delivery, sterile preparations, controlled substances and other critical aspects of the day-to-day operation.

     

    **3** ) Collaboration with system pharmacy leadership and local leadership to integrate pharmacy acute care and cancer care clinical and pharmacy operations across the enterprise. Areas for integration include but are not limited to Pharmacy & Therapeutics, critical operational processes such as sterile products and controlled substances, and clinical program initiatives.

    **4** ) Direct oversight of the financial performance of the inpatient pharmacy. Collaborates with system pharmacy and local leadership to develop budgets aligning with organizational objectives, monitors department performance and performs process verification / audit of the local pharmacy systems where applicable.

    **5** ) Ensures continued compliance with all national, state and local regulations related to medications and their management. Areas of responsibility include the DEA, CMS (including 340b program where applicable), Joint Commission, and Department of Public Health. Also has oversight of educational specific accreditations where applicable.

    **6** ) Practices pharmacy as a team member staffing areas of the main pharmacy at a regular interval to support the operation.

    **Required Work Experience** :
